Open-Xchange

The release of Open-Xchange 6.18, an open system for the organization of collective work is provided. Work in a packet is performed through web интeрфeйc, actively using Ajax technology and configured through templates. Functions of a system of document flow, reading mail, a forum, the calendar - the scheduler, bases of knowledge and the uniform address book are supported.

Open-Xchange has the simple modular architecture which is allowing to simplify integration of a packet into information infrastructure of the enterprise and not requiring evolution of the existing system of electronic mail. For integration of a packet with products of other producers, for example c CRM and ERP systems, OSGi-inctrumentary is available.

For expansion of functionality Open-Xchange and completion of a packet under needs of the enterprise the possibility of adding of new elements of the interface, through loading of the widgets developed in compliance of co by the Netvibes Universal Widget API (UWA) specification is supported. Widgets allow to integrate such elements into the interface as RSS-lenta, podcasts, video are flows, etc. For integration of more difficult components connection of plug-ins through which, for example, it is possible to add function for work of service of instant exchange of messages or sending and acceptance of faxes is supported.

More than hundred improvements affecting functions of electronic mail, the calendar, the address book, means of the organization of document flow and the scheduler of tasks are presented in the new version of a packet. In addition in the new version the concept of "Social OX" aimed at simplification of collecting of the electronic addresses and contact data from external mail services, an also allowing to organize a simple method of joint access to documents, without need of sending documents for a type of an investment to letters (in the letter the link to the document comes) is implemented.

Key innovations of Open-Xchange 6.18:

• Functions of import email and the addresses from gmx.com, MSN/Hotmail and T-Online services;
• The simplified method of exchange of documents via the module "Publication and Subscription" (the user can organize a subscription to certain categories of publications, sending invaytov is supported);
• Expanded opportunities on an address subscription from social networks, such as Facebook, LinkedIn and XING;
• Support of a binding of tags for the appointed meetings, contacts, tasks and InfoStore-zapicey. Tags can be used for sorting of elements and consolidation in categories which for visualization can be selected in different flowers;
• Support of maintaining history for VoIP-peregovorov;
• Improvement of a usability and design of the calendar, module of setting of tasks and system of purpose of the rights of access;
• Expansion of means on ensuring mobility of the user who can receive access to the data from any point of network and from any device now;
• New versions of the modules "OXtender for MS Outlook" and "OXtender for Business Mobility".

The packet extends in a type of the commercial version, but all initial texts are open under the license GPL and are available to independent assembly. The community of developers supports by Debian GNU/Linux the Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SUSE Enterprise Linux, Debian GNU/Linux, CentOS, Fedora, Ubuntu and openSUSE distribution kits.
