2017: The first transaction

In July, 2017 there took place the first transaction with use of the platform of augmented reality of Novarad OpenSight and Microsoft HoloLens glasses. Thanks to the innovative technologies to the patient with hernia of an intervertebral disk relieved back and legs pain, transfers the DOTmed.com web edition.

The software of OpenSight uses the medical images received through a magnetic and resonant and computer tomography. By means of three-dimensional visualization, segmentation, rendering and other computer technologies pictures are processed in real time then glasses of virtual reality HoloLens the picture with dynamic holograms of interiors of the patient to whom operation is performed is displayed. Such technology allows the doctor to see literally arrangement of internals without surgical cuts that then more precisely and without errors to carry out invasive intervention.

We apply augmented reality to display of a 3D model of anatomy of the patient directly on the living person — the director of research and to developments of Novarad Steve Cvetko says. — This live visual reproduction with exact location of bodies and their direction when changing a viewing angle is provided that is very valuable to medicine, researches and, of course, surgery.

Novard presented the OpenSight platform within Radiological community of North America (Radiological Society of North America) in 2016. Within the conference there took place indicative demonstration of technology, and the first real transactions on its basis was carried out in July, 2017.

People did some work with 3D models and simulators. Recently we received a number of documents from the American society of neuroradiologists, but now we for the first time tested technology on the patient — the CEO the neurologist of Novard Wendell Gibby who personally performed this operation — the automated chreskozhny endoscopic lumbar diskektomiya which allowed to reduce pain to the person with hernia of an intervertebral disk noted.
