Open Platform for DBaaS on IBM Power Systems is a packet of development tools of DBaaS.
On July 10, 2017 the IBM company provided development tools of databases as service (DBaaS) for the Power Systems platform. The solution is optimized for databases open source, including MongoDB, EDB PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, Redis, Neo4j and Apache Cassandra.
The created solution simplifies deployment of a private cloud in a complete configuration for administrators and developers of databases. The technical support of services of databases with the dug-out source code is automatically provided in it. Users can use a cloud, saving a possibility of monitoring and control over placement of resources, providing the necessary level of data protection. As Open DBaaS Platform is created on the basis of OpenStack, it can be integrated into the strategy of management of hybrid clouds.
For July 10, 2017 Open Platform for DBaaS on IBM Power Systems is available to installation. Software is started on servers OpenPOWER LC, intended for processing Big Data.
The need for operational delivery of applications grows and developers pay attention to modern models of creation of software, including DevOps, models of providing service as services and the systems of self-service. These solutions allow to increase quantity, performance and variety of business applications. Using the Open Platform for DBaaS IBM platform provides support of cloud models of development. In turn it will help to reach higher level of data management, access to them and their protection, will give an opportunity of the choice and a certain flexibility for dynamic development of the innovation applications.
