Enhanced Data Rate (EDR) InfiniBand Fabric is program-controlled, convergent network infrastructure capacity 100 Gbps. It is focused on corporate clients for performance improvement of applications, quick reaction on the changing requirements of business.
On February 29, 2016 the Oracle corporation announced InfiniBand Fabric Oracle Enhanced Data Rate (EDR) technology. According to the statement of the company, this solution will provide a basis for the future generations of convergent hardware and software systems.
Oracle EDR InfiniBand Fabric helps the organizations to develop crucial business applications in a cloud, increasing the network performance, efficiency and security. This solution on the basis of open standards will help clients to increase performance of work of software products of both Oracle, and other suppliers or own developments, including transaction processing, and will give to the enterprises an opportunity to reduce response time in the applications run on network.
The rajah of Raju Penumatcha, the senior vice president of Oracle for the Netra Systems and Networking direction New users, applications and the changing workloads are regulation in cloud environments. Traditional tough approaches to network infrastructure which are based on manual processes can be labor-consuming, expensive and subject to errors. Oracle EDR InfiniBand Fabric provides the scaled, not blocked, protected, open and single solution which will virtualize all network infrastructure for providing resources on demand and effective management without prejudice to performance. |
The solution Oracle EDR InfiniBand Fabric will give to the organizations opportunities:
- performance: Oracle EDR InfiniBand Fabric with capacity of 100 Gbps provides performance by 10 times big, than Ethernet, and by 3 times big, than the previous generation of InfiniBand, providing a possibility of 4-fold network consolidation with smooth integration with the existing network technologies and technologies of data storage into DPC. Using not blocked fat tree topology, clients can provide unsurpassed flexibility of deployment of services and rapid response to change of loadings.
- increase in efficiency: Oracle EDR InfiniBand Fabric provides uniform communication infrastructure for all servers and storage systems, supporting InfiniBand virtualized by Ethernet and the Fibre Channel. This convergent, open interconnect can be developed is transparent without making changes in applications or storage systems. The built-in SDN technologies provide fast creation of private virtual networks for safe isolation of multirent services.
- acceleration of applications: Oracle EDR InfiniBand Fabric uses processor capacities for processing of a large number of the competing flows, unloading mechanisms of transfer of low-latent messages for acceleration of applications. Capacities of server processors are as a result released that considerably reduces response time and increases capacity.
- increase in security: Oracle EDR InfiniBand Fabric protects control links that the cloud tenants sharing the same physical infrastructure were isolated from network traffic and administrative actions of other tenants, using the protected pass-through authentication. This solution also provides authentication of the administrators providing key managerial functions including providing new networks and introduction of configuration changes. Besides, users can use the built-in services of security of virtual networks, such as firewall, the balancer of loadings, IP routing, virtual private networks and broadcast of the network addresses, for protection of domains of tenants.
- open standards.
The release in sale is planned for the second quarter 2016.
