In August, 2010 the Oracle company released upgraded version of set of free software modules of Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse 11g. These tools will allow the specialists working from Eclipse integrated development environment to simplify the solution of a number of the tasks connected with creation, testing and optimization of Java applications.
The updated Oracle Enterprise Pack includes a set of new tools and functions which will allow developer Java to work more productively and guarantee the increased quality of end products. Specialists are offered to estimate enhanced capabilities of debugging of the scenarios created in Weblogic Script Tool, visualization of the MBeans components and means of syntax highlighting for the Python language.
Eclipse – one of the most widespread development environments among associates of developer Java, available to Windows platforms, Mac and Linux. The packet of Enterprise Pack is available to all listed operating systems and can be used in combination with versions of Eclipse 3.5.2 and 3.6.
In October, 2011 the Oracle corporation announced the new version of development tools of Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse 11g. The new version is based on already implemented support of the Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF) development environment and offers considerably advanced functions of refactoring in Eclipse and also new tools for Oracle Coherence.
In the whole Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse represents a set of the free connected software modules based on Eclipse allowing developers to create applications based on Java EE, Java Web, Spring, Oracle ADF and web services for the Oracle Fusion Middleware platform. With the new version to the partners and clients using Eclipse will develop and debug more simply applications in Oracle ADF: they should not switch between integrated development environments (Integrated Development Environments, IDE), claim in Oracle.
So, the new version of Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse for the first time supports development of a flow of tasks of Oracle ADF Task Flow, providing a full support for the ADF web applications. The new debugger of ADF Debugger simplifies process of elimination of errors in applications at their accomplishment. Thanks to advanced means of refactoring it is enough to developer to make one change to update all coupled elements — it reduces quantity of errors, especially at maintenance or debugging of existing applications. Besides, now Oracle Coherence the visual editor for the Oracle Coherence Cache Configuration files who will help to accelerate training of beginning users turns on and to increase performance of experienced specialists.
"The new version of Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse 11g provides to developer Java the tools necessary for increase in efficiency and creation of qualitative applications — Ted Farrell, the chief architect and the senior vice president of Oracle for the Tools and Middleware direction noted. — Expanded support of Oracle ADF and Oracle Coherence and also the improved functions of refactoring and debugging allow to reduce quantity of errors and to accelerate development of the innovative solutions, providing with that to customers of advantage to business in more short time".
Among improvements and innovations of Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse 11g it is possible to select: the master of projects on development of ADF-applications — new templates of projects help to master quickly Oracle ADF and Oracle WebLogic Server; support of ADF Task Flow — the code of navigation of the user interface from business logic allows to separate that simplifies debugging and facilitates maintenance (new masters of ADF Task Flow, the editor of ADF Task Editor and support of the drag and drop method during creation of pages using ADF Task Flows also simplify development thanks to ADF Controller); creation of ADF Library — allows developers to use an ADF-application as library to simplify its repeated application in other ADF-applications (the ADF Library created in Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse can be also used in the environment of Oracle JDeveloper); debugging during lifecycle of ADF — is improved by the debugger of Eclipse for improvement of debugging of ADF (now users can debug ADF pages, Java classes, determinations of Task Flow Definition and also the general events in lifecycle of ADF; ADF Expression Builder allows to make and execute dynamically operators of the Expression language); generation of a data model of ADF — offers new templates of generation of the code for basic functions of creation, reading, updating and removal using standard Java EE technologies, including JPA, EJB and Managed Beans.
Besides, AppXRay Refactoring improves basic functions of Eclipse using new instruments of refactoring when updating of the existing code for the components Java Server Pages, Java Standard Tag Library, Java Server Faces, EJB and JPA. Refactoring of the ADF web applications also supports the components ADF Faces, Managed Beans, determinations of flows of tasks, configuration files (such as faces-config) and packets of the Java resources.
In turn, the editor of the Oracle Coherence Cache Configuration files offers following features: the visual editor based on forms — reduces search time of a reference material and reduces quantity of errors when editing, provides absence in files of widespread typos, the wrong XML-marking or incorrect values; the values offered by default — become more clear values by default in the scheme Cache Configuration and, as a result, behavior by default; integration of the context-dependent help — allows to get quickly access to documentation of Oracle Coherence for specific elements of forms; end of the code — accelerates and increases data entry accuracy not in a design mode and also reduces time spent for use of a reference material.
