2017: Compliance to requirements of ISO 27001, HIPAA, SOC1 and SOC2

The corporation Oracle announced in the spring of 2017 receiving a number of certificates of conformity and certificates for a portfolio of cloud solutions Public Cloud, including ISO 27001 HIPAA, SOC1 and SOC2 on a number of basic services. Certification which is carried out by Schellman & Co. confirms compliance of solutions of corporation to standards by such parameters as security, availability, technology integrity and confidentiality.

Certificates of Service Organization Control (SOC) received the following main cloud services from a portfolio of Oracle PaaS and IaaS: Database Public Cloud Service, Java Public Cloud Service Database Backup Cloud Service, Exadata Cloud Service, Big Data Cloud Service, Big Data Preparation Service, Big Data Discovery, Application Builder Cloud Service, Storage Cloud Service, Dedicated Compute Cloud Service and Public Compute Cloud Service.

Certificates of SOC in general confirm compliance of Oracle to standards of the reporting of the international service organizations. "Reports of SOC are standards which help the organizations to provide trust to the regulations of providing services, giving the chance to estimate whether service organizations fulfill the duties properly in the controlled, stable and protected environment" — explained in corporation.

In turn, within the Law on health insurance and exchange of identification data of parties concerned (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, HIPAA) Oracle received the certificate on a complex SaaS- solutions Oracle Fusion Suite, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) including cloud services, Human Capital Management (HCM) and Customer Relationship Manager (CRM). It demonstrates to compliance of solutions SaaS to requirements of the Ministry for Health and Social Welfare of the USA to the organizations working in the field of health care. Certificates of HIPAA confirm proper ensuring preserving, access and sharing of individual medical and personal information and also compliance to national standards of security for the purpose of data protection about the state of health — represented, received, supported or transferred on electronic channels.

The certificate of International Standards Organization (ISO) 27001 received by corporation confirms proper management and security of such assets as financial information, intellectual property, data on employees or information transferred to the organization by the third parties. The certificate is issued on a complex of cloud services of Public Cloud SaaS in the following main areas: Fusion ERP, HCM, CRM, Taleo Social, Taleo Business Edition, Service Cloud, Eloqua Marketing Cloud, BigMachines CPQ and Field Service Cloud.

2012

In the cloud Oracle Public Cloud system also the corporate Fusion Applications applications provided on models SaaS — "the program in the form of service" and PaaS — "the platform in the form of service", including services for work with Java and cloud will work DBMS Oracle. At last, the cloud will work on own servers Oracle Exadata and Oracle Exalogic, but not on in large quantities the issued equipment.

2011: Announcement

The CEO of Oracle Larry Ellison provided a new cloud service of Oracle Public Cloud within which there will be well flagman solution of Fusion Applications corporation and other applications. Here what he told: "Our cloud services differ a little. It is the platform as service, and the application as service at the same time. The key difference consists that our cloud is based on industry standards and maintains full functional compatibility with other clouds. The fact that you pass into a cloud does not mean yet that you will forget everything that happened in information technologies for the last 20 years".

According to Ellison, the Force.com platform is the system closed on itself as uses own APEX programming languages. By contrast, Oracle Public Cloud it is based on Java, SQL, XML and other similar standards. "It as the airplane which flies in clouds, and from which to you never to be selected", - the CEO famous for the tendency to shock public said.

Ellison said that even despite intention of Salesforce.com to purchase Heroku, the cloud platform supporting Java it should not mislead clients. Ellison says that clients will be able to move all own databases in a cloud of the company. "You can take all this, move, and it will work. Ah and, you can as well to move the data back or to a cloud of Amazon at discretion … Nothing will change", - the top manager summarized.

"Be careful of false clouds", - Ellison called, having referred to the favourite expression of the CEO of Salesforce.com Marc Benioff: "It is such piece of good advice. I and itself could not tell better".

Further Ellison crushed approach of Salesforce.com and others SaaS providers within which data of users are stored "mnogokvartirno" - i.e. separately from each other. This practice allows suppliers to provide, for example, updates to all clients at the same time. Oracle avoids this approach for a number of reasons, first of all, because of massive faults in security. "This model is 15 years old, and now outside 2011. Everything is solved by virtualization", - Ellison said.

Oracle Public Cloud will be available on a subscription at the special price depending on the capacities requested by the specific client. However Ellison did not announce when the cloud is available.
