The timing of the development of the engine for civil aviation is PD-35 shifting a couple of years ahead. This was announced in early December by Alexander Inozemtsev, Deputy General Director of United Engine Corporation JSC for the management of the Perm Motors research and production complex, Managing Director - General Designer of UEC-Aviadvigatel JSC.

{{quote 'According to PD-35, we had a planned date [of development] until 2027-2028. Now, in connection with all the events, [the deadlines] are shifting a couple of years to the right, because the funds have now been redistributed to increase the volume of PD-14, PD-8, PS-90A. This is a forced measure, but nothing stops, "he said in a conversation with TASS. }}

PD-35

Perm JSC "UEC-Aviadvigatel" is developing a PD-35 intended for the Russian-Chinese aircraft CR929. Work on the creation of the engine is at the stage of research and development. The costs of developing the PD-35 were estimated at $3 billion, reports. Kommersant

In December 2021, TASS, citing the order of Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, reported that more than 44.6 billion rubles had been allocated from the country's reserve fund for the development of the PD-35.

It is assumed that PD-35 is needed not only for the Russian-Chinese wide-body passenger aircraft. It will allow you to get away from the four-engine scheme at the IL-476, IL-478, IL-96-400, and will also become the base engine for the promising aviation complex of military transport aviation.

In May 2022, the state examination of the pilot production project was completed. On July 3, 2022, Alexander Inozemtsev said that the engine was planned to be tested in 2023.

{{quote 'We have huge plans. And I must say that these plans by 2030 are more than 300 large engines, he said[1] }}
