The T-Platforms company in April, 2011 completed delivery of the computing cluster "PGU-Tesla" for Perm State University. The computing cluster "PGU-Tesla" of "Parallel and Distributed Computing" Scientific and education center of the Perm State University (PSU) is the most powerful supercomputer in the Perm region and the top 50 holds the 44th place of rating. Creation and the development "PGU-Tesla" - a part of the "Development of the Center of Collective Use of High-performance Computing Resources — NOTs PIRV" project. The hi-tech enterprises of Perm Krai are among potential users of services NOTs PIRV.
The hardware and software system "PGU-Tesla" is the high-performance multiprocessor computer system with hybrid architecture based on the T-Blade 1.1 platform and NVidia Tesla S 2050 processors. The high-speed network QDR Infiniband allows to increase in tens of times the speed of interprocessor exchange in comparison with traditional Gigabit Ethernet. Peak capacity of the supercomputer - 9 Tflops, and actual system performance on the Linpack test - 4.9 Tflops. Total amount of RAM – 960 GB.
"PGU-Tesla" it is intended for solving of tasks of mathematical modeling, data processing of laboratory experiments in the field of bio - and nanotechnologies, nonlinear physics, mechanics, chemistry, sciences about Earth and many others, to optimization of configurations of technical constructions and installations.
"the supercomputer resource "The CCGT — Tesla" should become the center of integration of all knowledge-intensive productions, one of crucial elements of the innovation infrastructure of the Perm region and other regions of the Urals. The similar centers in Russia should become the powerful engine of development of all regional branches of the economy", - Alexey Demenev, the director of the center of collective use of NOTs PIRV of high-performance computing resources told.
