2025: Product Announcement

The Russian company Expert of the Group"" launched serial production of an automatic installer of SMD components PiPlacer8 for assembling printed circuit boards with a capacity of 15 thousand components per hour. The equipment was created with the support of Skolkovo the Foundation Ministries of Industry and Trade Russia "" and as part of the program to support small design centers Microelectronics"." The launch of production took place in early July 2025.

According to the press service of the Skolkovo Foundation, the new production equipment combines high performance with a unique error control system based on machine vision. PiPlacer8 became the first domestic automatic installer of SMD components for assembling medium series of electronic products.

Mass production of equipment for mounting printed circuit boards launched in Russia

The installer provides positioning accuracy up to ±35 micrometers when working with a wide range of component sizes - from miniature 0201 to large elements measuring 40×40 millimeters. The design includes eight independent nozzles and eighty slots for eight-millimeter feeders.

The maximum size of the processed printed circuit board reaches 430×430 millimeters, which allows you to cover most of the tasks of modern electronics production. The hardware and software platform supports SMEMA interface for integration into production lines.

Kirill Kayem, Deputy Chairman of the Board for Priority Areas of Technological Development, Chief Managing Director of the Skolkovo Foundation, noted that before the introduction of restrictive measures, foreign brands occupied the Russian SMT equipment market. He listed Japan's Juki and Fuji, Korea's Hanwha and Samsung, Europe's Essemtec, EUROPLACER and ASM, and China's NeoDen and Faroad.

PiPlacer8 is the Russian analogue of such models of imported SMT equipment as the German Fritsch 620, the Korean Hanwha SM481 and the French EUROPLACER IINEO II. With characteristics comparable to the world's leading analogues, the domestic installer has a competitive cost.[1]
