2018: Announcement
In May, 2018 Polycom provided cloud services for corporate clients and telecom operators. The solutions Polycom Cloud Services laid the foundation for the new cloud strategy assuming creation of tools for simple deployment and management of a set of components of voice and video conference worldwide.
PDMS services (Polycom Device Management Service) intended for control of the VIDEOCONFERENCING equipment, monitoring of their performance and elimination of the arising problems were a part of Polycom Cloud Services. Thanks to PDMS clients can create, update and protect tens of thousands of telephone systems used at offices and conference rooms.
By May, 2018 PDMS are available only to audiodevices. Until the end of the year the producer promises support and the VIDEOCONFERENCING equipment.
In the third quarter there will be a version of PDMS for telecom operators which will be able to turn on analytical tools and management tools audio equipment in the client portals. By means of the solution of Polycom telecommunication companies will be able to integrate collected data and the equipment of orders for satisfaction of their requirement.
Besides, Polycom will release API that suppliers of telecom services could configure the personalized services and analytics for each client.
The version is developed for corporate clients of PDMS by forces of specialists of Polycom, and the telecommunication option is created in many respects based on VoIP-technology which Polycom received as a result of acquisition of Obihai Technology company at the beginning of 2018.
Polycom is going to expand quantity of the offered cloud services during 2018 and to continue work with suppliers of public clouds, such Microsoft Azure as well as Amazon Web Services (AWS) with which the company cooperates many years, using their cloud infrastructure.[1]
