2025: Product Announcement

On May 13, 2025, Postgres Professional introduced the Postgres Pro Machine hardware database system on the Russian market, in the production of which more than 1.5 billion rubles will be invested. The project partner is a domestic developer and manufacturer of IT equipment Delta Computers.

Postgres Pro Machine combines four types of different DBMSs within one system: highly loaded databases, analytical query processing, orchestration with a large number of medium-sized DBMSs, and horizontal scaling (sharding). Moreover, all databases are managed through a single interface. This, as noted by Postgres Professional, is the first such solution on the Russian market.

Another feature of the platform is the high performance achieved through deep integration of hardware and software. The declared increase in operating speed is 30% or more compared to existing solutions. Postgres Professional emphasizes that such a result cannot be achieved within the framework of a regular project to install software on hardware and optimize settings - it was necessary to develop a specialized hardware platform and redesign the DBMS itself. Delta Computers is responsible for the hardware component within the framework of the project. In general, the deployment of Postgres Pro Machine will provide customers with significant savings in time, money and human resources.

Now most Russian companies are forced to support several different technology stacks for working with databases - DBMS on virtual machines; Databases running without an additional virtualization layer analytical DBMS; DBMS larger than 150 TB. Postgres Pro Machine will close all these capabilities within the same system, says Ivan Panchenko, Deputy General Director of Postgres Professional.
