2023: Announcement of the complex

On July 13, 2023, it became known about the creation by Rostec of a software and hardware complex that allows you to turn any armored personnel carriers (APCs), infantry fighting vehicles (BMPs) or tanks into remotely controlled robotic vehicles.

As the industrial director of the cluster of weapons, ammunition and special chemistry of the state corporation Bekhan Ozdoev told TASS, the robotic BMP-3 with the battle module "Sinitsa," which was developed by the state corporation VNII "Signal," demonstrated the real capabilities and effectiveness of controlling equipment using a remote control.

The robotic infantry fighting vehicle BMP-3 with the Sinitsa module has a special set of equipment. allowing to robotize the functions of the driver and the shooter, while the car does not lose the possibility of manual control.

But we went further and created the Promete hardware and software complex. With its help, you can turn any car, both wheeled and tracked, into a robot. It can be an infantry fighting vehicle, armored personnel carrier or tank. Control is provided using a remote control, while the regular seats of the crew members are preserved. Minor refinement of combat vehicles is required, - he said.

According to the industrial director of the Rostec arms, ammunition and special chemistry cluster, by mid-July 2023 the project is developing towards increasing autonomy: the combat vehicle will be able to move at the given coordinates with access to the necessary point without the participation of the operator. Also, a machine with Promete will be able to offline determine the optimal route, bypass obstacles and process information using technical vision.
