2019: Purchase of network by PickPoint company

On December 26, 2019 it became known of purchase of network of Qiwi Box automatic post offices by PickPoint company which includes about 2.3 thousand objects. The price of the transaction is not set.

The representative of Qiwi in a conversation with RBC connected the decision on sale of automatic post offices by the fact that the company decided to be focused on development and maintenance of platform solutions, i.e. more traditional for the IT company in business.

In particular, within the transaction with PickPoint the Qiwi company will still manage the platform of interaction with terminals. In turn, the logistic operator expects to raise traffic of online orders for each automatic point of issue using acquisition of Qiwi Box. PickPoint expects that in 2020 traffic will grow twice.

The market of automatic post offices shows dynamic growth now, and for us it was important to transfer an asset to the partner's hands with deep examination in logistics services in time — the director of the strategy of Qiwi Alexey Rasskazov whose words are cited in the press release said.

The CEO of PickPoint Nadezhda Romanova reminded that the company participated in creation of Qiwi Box network, in the choice of localities and locations of automatic post offices, in completion of software. Actually, built it "under themselves", she noted.

As the partner of Data Insight Fedor Virin reported Vedomosti, one automatic post office can cost about 200−300 thousand rubles so purchase of terminals from Qiwi can cost 500 million rubles.

In the spring of Qiwi predicted that the market of automatic post offices in Russia can grow to 24 thousand to the 2023rd About a half of this volume can provide X5 Retail Group which is going to cover with automatic post offices all the retail networks.

All automatic post offices of Qiwi at the end of December, 2019 became the property of PickPoint, and clients of Qiwi will have opportunity to pay orders via terminals of this company.^[1]
