2025: Data Center Upgrade

Hosting-provider RUVDS carried out a large-scale modernization of its own data center Rucloud in. The Korolyov measures taken made it possible to increase the amount of computing power by 20% and increase the total energy capacity by DPC 25% - up to 1.5 MW. The company announced this on April 29, 2025.

In particular, additional server racks were introduced at the site, additional power was supplied, the UPS capacity was increased and part of the battery packs was replaced. The electrical diagram and wiring were also updated, the cooling system capacity in the module was increased. The fire safety system underwent a large-scale update: maintenance of the gas-type module was carried out in order to maintain standard values, and the system of fire extinguishing sensors, control and control control units was modernized in accordance with the Order of Rosstandart dated December 1, 2024 dated 24.10.2024 No. 1497-st on amendments to GOST R 59636-2021.

The site in Korolev is our large location: the data center for several years was contracted by customers by 90%. The current increase in the supplied capacity allows scaling existing customers, as well as providing the opportunity to place their infrastructure for new customers, - said Nikita Tsaplin, General Director of RUVDS.

During the modernization process, the data center worked normally, it operated equipment that ensures the operation of RUVDS customers. Migration of IT equipment, installation work and design tests were carried out absolutely seamlessly.

The Rucloud Data Center was commissioned in 2015, the first location available to order RUVDS virtual servers. The site is certified by FSTEC for the class of technical protection of confidential information and complies with GOST P ISO/IEC 27001-2006 (ISO/IEC 27001-2006) and GOST R ISO 9001-2015 (ISO 9001:2015) standards. As of April 2025, RUVDS has computing power in 16 data centers, seven of which are located outside the country.

2016: Data center designed according to Tier III standard TIA-942

The data center premises are certified in accordance with the requirements of FSTEC, the design was carried out in accordance with the TIER III reliability category according to the TIA-942 standard (redundancy N + 1 with a fault tolerance level of 99.98%). Fault tolerance level is provided by:

  • Three independent connection channels to the trunk communication nodes MMTS-9 and MMTS-10, which allows for highly reliable high-speed Internet access with an average ping in Moscow of up to 3 ms and a bandwidth of up to 30 Gb/s and a DDOS protection system based on CISCO Guard solution
  • Two independent power lines of 0.5 MW, which corresponds to the power supply of the 1st category and allows switching between inputs in less than one second
  • APC-based Uninterruptible Power Supply System
  • Two standby diesel generators and automatic start-up systems, which make it possible to ensure autonomous operation of the data center for 24 hours. Contract for prompt delivery of diesel fuel in case of emergency
  • Three independent cooling systems (water, air and gravity ventilation with an air cleaning system) and a system for ensuring humidity of the sealed area at the level of 40-50%
  • Gas Fire Extinguishing System (Chladon) and Fire Alarm System (Early Response and Temperature Sensors)
  • Four perimeters of access control to equipment, as well as a video surveillance system for all access perimeters:
    • The first is a closed, round-the-clock protected FSUE MINISTRY OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS Russia and access-controlled area where the RuVDS data center is located.
    • The second is the territory of RuVDS data center controlled by Private Security Company
    • Third - Access Controlled Data Center Entry
    • Fourth - access-controlled entrance to each containment by magnetic card

  • 24-hour monitoring of all systems and technical support directly at the equipment location
