2024: Start of deliveries
In April 2024, deliveries of a portable radar station for detecting drones flying close to the ground began in Russia. We are talking about the development of the Rybinsk Instrument Making Plant (RZP, part of Roselectronics of the Rostec state corporation).
According to the press service of Rostec, a portable multifunctional radar station (MRLS) is designed to detect, identify and escort ground and water bodies. The system can "see" even the most stealthy drones in hover mode or flying at ultra-low altitudes, and can also recognize birds, animals or humans. According to the developers, the equipment is capable of recognizing targets at a distance of up to 10 km around the clock and in any weather conditions.
According to the Director General of the RZP Andrei Komogortsev, the key advantages of the device are high autonomy, increased mobility, the speed of transition from marching mode to combat, and, finally, improved identification algorithms that leave no chance for a potential object to disappear from the MRLS control field.
It is also important to note safety for observation - the complex can be located at a distance from the observation site and, if found, does not unmask the shelter, he said. |
According to Komogortsev, by the end of April 2024, six copies of the MRLS have already been delivered to the customer. The equipment is installed and tested in the security system complex of the protected facility. Rostec added that the tests confirmed the high efficiency of MRLS in fulfilling the tasks. The equipment was created entirely on the domestic element base. By the end of 2024, it is expected to launch mass production of a portable multifunctional radar station.[1]
