2023: Platform Implementation
On December 12, 2023, China announced the introduction of a single blockchain-based identification platform. A service called RealDID is said to be designed to verify the identity of users while minimizing the risks of personal information leakage.
The creation of RealDID is the result of cooperation between the National Information Center of the PRC, the Ministry of Public Security of the country, China Mobile Communications Group, Beijing Zhongdun Anxin Technology Development and the BSN Development Alliance (Blockchain Service Network). The system allows you to register and log on to websites anonymously using decentralized identifiers (DIDs) and private keys. The implemented approach ensures that the personal data of Internet users are not directly related to their financial information, which increases the level of security.
It is noted that RealDID is the world's first decentralized system for confirming the identity of the national level. The platform is a combination of the BSN blockchain service network and the CTID digital identity chain. The system is designed to "meet the need for a robust mechanism for protecting personal data in the digital age."
RealDID provides a number of capabilities, including real name verification, data encryption, confidential login, custom business DID, and identity certificate services. Users may choose to disclose different personal information to different business platforms. Thus, it is possible to minimize the amount of data transmitted, which will ensure maximum confidentiality.
The launch of RealDID aims to provide users with the ability to control their digital identification and personal information and ensure businesses only access the data they need, it said.[1] |
