2025: Astra Linux Desktop Compatibility

TECHNORED and Astra Group presented a joint solution as part of the project to transfer software for industrial robots to the domestic OS. The prototype of the REDS TECHNORED visual programming system showed performance on Astra Linux Desktop, which is an important step to transfer the domestic industry to cybersecurity solutions in the field of robotization. The Skolkovo Foundation announced this on December 29, 2025.

This is a practical result of the strategic partnership of companies aimed at creating a line of fully domestic industrial robots equipped with cybersecurity software, as part of the implementation of the national project "Development of industrial robotics and production automation" (part of the national project "Means of production and automation"), in order to multiply the domestic robotization market by 2030.

During the implementation of the project, a prototype of the REDS TECHNORED robot visual programming system running on Astra Linux Desktop was tested. The solution is designed for the tasks of automated movement of objects and has already shown performance in basic scenarios, including data exchange and direct control of an industrial manipulator in real time.

This is just the first, but very important step towards the development of domestic robotics in the field of software, allowing manipulators to perform various tasks of the end customer. Now it is possible to expand the scope of our robots to new markets and many potential customers who previously could not use TECHNORED products due to high information security requirements. We do not plan to stop there and already in 2026, in parallel with the completion of software development together with Astra Group, we will start creating several more software products that will significantly simplify, speed up and make the process of configuring and integrating our robots more intuitive, "said Arthur Kharkov, Head of Research and Development at TECHNORED.

As of December 2025, Astra Linux runs application software - a visual programming system compatible with the entire line of collaborative robots REDS (TECHNORED products). The next step is to adapt low-level control systems and real-time components.

During the first stage, the joint team of engineers of our companies adapted the READ TECHNORED visual programming system for working with Astra Linux. Next, we will gradually transfer the entire TECHNORED digital infrastructure to the Astra Group technology stack: from the introduction of Astra Linux Embedded directly into robotic systems, to integration with DBMS and AI technologies, as well as joint development of hardware solutions based on domestic microelectronic components with our partners. All this will ensure not only a high level of information security, reliability and performance, but also create a completely sovereign ecosystem of industrial robotics, - said Anton Shmakov, technical director of Astra Group.

The solution is focused on application in conditions of increased requirements for information security: on conveyor lines, when servicing CNC machines, palletizing and at critical infrastructure facilities. The use of Astra Linux gives enterprises simplification of certification, compliance with the requirements of the FSTEC of Russia and reduction of cyber risks.
