2023: Product Announcement
On March 30, 2023, Finnish medical device company Bioretec announced the release of RemeOs traumatic screws - biodegradable metal implants designed to treat injuries and perform orthopedic operations.
And the basis of RemeOs is a patented magnesium alloy with the properties of a bioactive and osteostimulating material. This is a robust bioresorbable composition of a new generation. It has the benefits of traditional metal implants and biodegradable polymer implants, increasing the convenience of patient care and shortening their rehabilitation time.
RemeOs' traumatic screws are resorbed and replaced with new bone tissue during the body's natural healing process, eliminating the need for surgical removal of implants. Moreover, in the clinical setting, the new screws have demonstrated the ability to stimulate bone growth in fracture treatment significantly better than traditional metal implants or other bioresorbable products on the market. RemeOs screws thus eliminate the need for traditional titanium and steel implants, which require additional surgical procedures to be removed. At the same time, RemeOs products support their own natural processes of restoration of the body without the use of foreign substances.
Compared to other clinically used products, Bioretec's RemeOs bioresorbable orthopedic implant provides significant cost savings and reduced risk of complications by eliminating redundant removal operations. We are confident that the RemeOs traumatic screw is the best option for most patients in terms of care and end result, says the developer.[1] |
