2021: CT Scanner Announcement
On November 29, 2021, GE Healthcare introduced the Revolution Apex modular computed tomography system, which, according to developers, provides scalability of equipment, which allows radiological departments and medical institutions to add service lines to meet changing patient needs.
The Revolution Apex Gemstone Clarity detector is the basis of this approach, allowing users to update the device by replacing the 40 mm detector and rotation speed of 0.28 seconds with a 160 mm detector and a rotation rate of 0.23 seconds per revolution. As of November 2021, this is the highest portal installation speed in the world. This process allows medical institutions to keep up with the latest technologies, minimizing the obsolescence of technologies and optimizing clinical capabilities. It also helps optimize fleet management, allowing agencies to minimize overall operating costs and address budget constraints. The platform was presented by the company at the annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America in 2021.
Given the variability of the health environment as of November 2021, it makes sense to have a system that scales to meet today's and tomorrow's changing computed tomography needs. Realizing that health systems face the need to constantly update computed tomography technologies, our company has developed a new modular solution that can evolve with health systems so that they have what they need and when they need it. Overall, we are very proud of our Revolution Apex platform and are very excited about the feedback we have received about its performance and the utility of the system as a whole, "said Jean-Luc Procaccini, President and CEO of GE Healthcare Molecular Imaging and Computed Tomography. |
Operational efficiency was the focus of the development of Revolution Apex, as GE Healthcare developed Effortless Workflow, which uses artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to automate most of the workflow from preliminary to subsequent scanning. The platform can also produce high-quality computed tomography (CT) images at the minimum possible radiation dose due to the deep learning platform for reconstructing TrueFidelity images. Revolution Apex is also equipped with GE Healthcare's patented Quantix X-ray tube, providing the necessary power to comfortably obtain images of all anatomical formations regardless of patient size and without compromising image quality.[1]
