2022: Taiwan delivers 800 'flying mortars' to Ukraine

At the end of August 2022, it became known that Taiwan had delivered 800 "flying mortars" to Ukraine. We are talking about unmanned aerial vehicles of vertical take-off and landing Revolver 860.

Taiwanese news site Taiwan News, citing Polish technology portal WP tech, reported that drones and mortars are manufactured by DronesVision. Intermediaries from Poland purchase them from a Taiwanese vendor, and then supply them to the Ukrainian military.

The Polish media nicknamed the Revolver 860 a "flying mortar" because of a rotating drum-like bomb compartment that holds up to eight 60-mm mortar mines. The manufacturer's website also states that the UAV can be modified to use 81- and 120-mm mortar shells.

The Revolver 860 weighs 42kg and measures 1.35 metres in diameter. With a full ammunition load, the quadcopter is capable of flying up to 20 km and being in the air for 20 to 40 minutes, depending on the load and weather conditions.

CM Media contacted DronesVision representatives, but they said that given the ″ difficult and volatile international situation, ″ can only confirm that the company has customers in Poland who have purchased a full range of UAV products manufactured by DronesVision.

At the same time, the manufacturer admitted that its equipment is supplied for combat operations at, and To Ukraine that it should have already been used in battles. A DronesVision spokesman said that Polish customers have increased purchases drones since March, that is, shortly after the start of a special military operation Russia in Ukraine. Over the past five months, orders have been growing steadily, the source added. However, the company refused to directly confirm the information that by mid-August 800 Revolver 860 drones were sent to Ukraine.[1]
