2023: Product Announcement
On March 21, 2023, the Chinese company Rokid introduced the thin and light augmented reality glasses Rokid Max AR. The device is capable of forming in front of the user's eyes an image equivalent in size to a 5.5-meter display located at a distance of about 6 meters.
The novelty is equipped with two Sony micro-OLED Full HD screens (1920 × 1080 pixels). The angle of view is 50 degrees. Brightness reaches 600 nits, contrast - 100,000: 1. It provides 106 percent coverage of the sRGB color space, and the refresh rate is 120 Hz.
The glasses weigh 75 grams. The function of myopia correction (from 0 to -6) is provided. The device is certified by TÜV Rheinland to reduce the intensity of blue backlight and reduce flickering: these functions reduce eye strain when using the gadget for a long time. While viewing videos, you can switch between 2D and 3D modes; there is talk of HDCP support. Directional speakers of the "professional level" with independent volume control are integrated into the arms. Two microphones with noise canceling tools are responsible for voice control. The equipment also includes a 9-axis IMU and a 3DoF module for tracking the position of the user's head in space.
The USB Type-C interface is used to connect to a smartphone or other signal source. A companion Rokid AR app has been released for the glasses, available on the Android platform. Additionally, you can purchase a wireless adapter. The price of new items is approximately $440.
Everyone can enjoy amazing picture quality, cinematic sound, immersive games and entertainment on the big screen anywhere thanks to our Rokid Max AR glasses, says the developer.[1] |
