2020: Mobile DPC of Rosatom - the digital supercomputer SUV

In December, 2020 Rosatom provided a new digital product – mobile DPC with opportunities of supercomputer calculations. The product output to the market became the answer to modern calls — rates of digitalization demanded serious change of IT tools with which the enterprises operate. Including, there was relevant a fast accumulation of computing powers by means of mobile data processing centers which gives to a wide range of consumers the chance to implement projects without restrictions regarding access to digital infrastructure.

We should consider new calls which require the adequate answer. Certainly, today the solution of these questions is closely connected with creation of the corresponding digital infrastructure - the possibility of fast accumulation of infrastructure capacities is very important.

For this purpose Rosatom brings different digital solutions and products which successfully proved at the enterprises of nuclear sector to public market, Dmitry Gulyaev, the director of the infrastructure solutions "Tsifrum" (Rosatom State Corporation) explained. By its estimates, today in a product portfolio of Rosatom more than 100 digital products distributed in six main directions. One of the directions – digital infrastructure.

Digital infrastructure solutions of Rosatom

Development of solutions of digital infrastructure of Rosatom goes in four directions:

• Reference data processing centers: stationary and modular DPCs.
• The high-loaded supercomputer DPCs with the high level of information protection.
• Mobile, container solutions: hardware and software systems in mobile and container execution.
• Services of data processing centers: cloud computing (IaaS, BaaS, DRaaS, IaaS HPC, SecaaS, VDI protected by IaaS), services of colocation, the supercomputer centers of collective use.

Development of digital infrastructure is one of priority activities of state corporation, including the project on creation of the geodistributed and failsafe network of the data centers of Rosatom connected to power objects of nuclear sector is very actively implemented. The Rosenergoatom Concern (enters into ROSATOM State Corporation) in September of last year brought DPC Kalinin into operation. As Dmitry Gulyaev emphasized, it is one of the largest DPCs in Europe and the largest in the Russian Federation (48 MW, 4800 racks), equidistanted from Moscow and St. Petersburg. It is located in Udomlya of the Tver region near the Kalinin NPP and provides a broad spectrum of cloud services and services of Colocation.

In September the start was given to a construction of the DPC Innopolis, largest in the Volga Federal District (Innopolis, the Republic of Tatarstan). Now there is design and exploration work. Also in line – construction of DPCs in Moscow and St. Petersburg. According to Dmitry Gulyaev, at the moment Rosatom is engaged in development and creation of five platforms for construction of DPC in Russia with a total power of 250 MW, potential sites for construction of DPC in the different countries abroad are also considered.

Dmitry Gulyaev gave a packet of "Logos" as an example of service of the supercomputer centers of collective use. This powerful solution which allows to model physical processes, CAE optimized under a format of digital production (Computer-aided engineering, engineering support of production) is available to the enterprises in the SaaS format.

In June, 2020 based on DPC Kalinin was implemented one more infrastructure product of Rosatom - infrastructure platforms, completely ready to work, on which customers can place and operate own container data processing centers. Currently, according to Dmitry Gulyaev, in the Russian Federation five such prepared platforms under placement of modular/container DPCs with a total power of 125 MW are created. And on December 15, 2020 Rosatom presented to the market one more digital infrastructure product – mobile DPC.

our nuclear center has considerable experience in creation of high-performance DPCs of different function, - Mikhail Zheleznov, the director of the VNIITF federal nuclear center noted. - The new mobile DPC is a worthy perspective product in a portfolio of digital products of Rosatom.

And at a forum "Army-2019" the first sample of mobile DPC implemented based on the automobile platform that allows to transport quickly it, both automobile, and by rail was shown.

Representatives of a development team told that the mobile DPC brought to public market based on the KamAZ truck chassis - one of several offered options of a product which is intended for work in hardly accessible territories in the projects requiring the operational equipment of a point of acceptance, processing and information transfer.
