2019: Beginning of testing

On February 22, 2019 Rostec reported that the Ruselectronics holding begins testing of automated information systems of control of ice and meteorological loadings on overhead power transmission lines. The "smart" complex will allow to reveal timely formation of an ice crust on wires, lightning-protective ropes and to quickly inform abnormal services.

Sensors of ice loading, temperature and air humidity, speed and the direction of wind and also the temperature sensor of wires and lightning rope are composition of control. On wireless communication links information from sensors by means of the GSM modem is transferred to the dispatching center. The complex also includes the application for mobile devices which is visually displaying information and quickly informing the operator on emergence of an emergency situation.

Ice accidents on overhead power transmission lines are one of the most hardly removable: during bad weather it is difficult to detect them, inspection of lines is complicated because of lack of roads and dispersion of abnormal sections. At the same time shutdown of the whole areas can be an effect of such accidents that in the conditions of bad weather and low temperatures can lead to emergencies. Implementation of "smart" monitoring systems allows the electric grid companies to monitor a status of transmission lines without departure into place. Necessary information for exact and timely prevention of emergency situations arrives to operators almost online.

A system allows to connect at the same time up to 256 sensors. The interval between signals from sensors is minimum that gives the chance almost continuously to obtain exact data on meteorological and ice loading.

Production of a system is developed based on domestic manufacturer of components of EKB JSC Meteor Plant of Ruselectronics holding. In the nearest future the enterprise will start pilot operation of the equipment on Volgogradenergo networks.
