Rostelecom: Infrastructure of space data

The Rostelecom company held in July, 2016 in Tver the presentation of a geoanalytical system of public administration by the subject of the Russian Federation "Infrastructure of space data" which is the new instrument of information support for acceptance of management decisions in the different industries of regional economy.

"Infrastructure of space data" — the applied software product using the Russian developments on the basis of the principles of cloud computing and the service-oriented architecture allowing to create in short terms information and analytical and geoinformation services for public authorities of all levels and the commercial organizations. A geoanalytical system is held for use in the industries rural, forest and fishery. Also it can be demanded in construction, management of land fund and property. It should be noted that it is integrated with the information systems which are already available for the customer.

According to representatives of the company, a system gives a search capability of space patterns in distribution of geographical data and interrelations between objects, with purpose of geographical identifiers, such as geographical coordinates — the width and longitude, to subjects of the map and data writings. At the same time the user can easily carry out data samplings on the interesting objects, with filtering of potential objects by different types of parameters, create their interactive thematic maps using the available geodata, and many other things. Feature of a system is use of mobile applications by end users with online placement of necessary information on cards, told in Rostelecom.

"'Infrastructure of space data' can become one of the key information resources designed to integrate data from a set of separate sources in close connection with a geographical location, the moment or a time frame — the director of the Tver branch of Rostelecom Dmitry Ukhov considers. — This geoinformation resource will allow to solve the whole range of the applied problems connected with use of space data in the field of economy, construction, environment protection, planning of the territory, rendering public services".

According to the experts, the market of space geodata by 2020 can make one billion about p8.2. According to representatives of the company, use of the geoanalytical system "Infrastructure of Space Data" will allow to store and process large volumes of data connected with activity of geographically distributed objects, such as water, land and property resources. Rostelecom has all necessary technical and organizational resources on a national scale for implementation of similar projects.
