Roxio Retrospect

In July, 2010 the Roxio company announced the new version of the product Retrospect 8.2, tool kit for backup and data recovery. Earlier the product was the flagman solution of Dantz company.

Developers of the version of Roxio Retrospect 8.2 announce the product performance which increased by 300%. Support of the 64-bit systems will allow IT specialists to perform backup of the volumes containing tens of millions of files.

In the new version one of the functions which are most demanded by users – a possibility of data recovery from the backup copies created using the product Retrospect 6 is implemented. Because of essential architectural differences between the latests version of software many client organizations had to be engaged in service of several versions of Retrospect or even to abstain from updating. The version of Retrospect 8.2 solves these problems. Developers also suggest to estimate the advanced user interface which will accelerate and will simplify the solution of a number of routine tasks.

The listed new features supplement the extensive list of the innovations provided in the last large update of Retrospect 8.0, such as possibility of simultaneous accomplishment of several operations on backup, the certified support of encryption algorithms AES-256, preserving of backup copies on local and network systems of storage and also their transfer on tape drives and other portable carriers, the modified mechanisms of generation of reports and mailing of email notifications.

Owners of current licenses on use of the product Retrospect 8.x will be able to receive updating free of charge.
