2024: Product Announcement

In early February 2024, the American company NeuroSync Laboratories introduced a virtual reality platform called C-Infinity. It is claimed that the system eliminates the feeling of motion sickness in VR games, thereby preventing nausea.

Motion sickness in VR occurs due to a discrepancy between what is happening in the user's field of view, his vestibular apparatus and the real position of the body in space. As a result, discomfort occurs, which can be accompanied by dizziness, unpleasant sensations in the abdomen, muscles, etc. The C-Infinity complex solves the problem due to the fact that the signals of the visual cortex of the brain, which processes the user's actions in virtual space, are synchronized with the signals received by the motor cortex from real movements.

From a hardware point of view, C-Infinity is a special platform with a footrest, a back with integrated sensors and two armrests with hand controllers. After immersion in the VR environment, the user can move back and forth, pulling up or repelling the controllers. To turn, it is enough to slightly turn the upper torso in the desired direction. According to NeuroSync, it is these movements that produce signals in the somatosensory cortex. Since the motor cortex is located near the somatosensory cortex, it picks up some of these signals. The controllers have buttons for performing certain actions.

The C-Infinity platform is said to be compatible with all personal computers, PlayStation VR systems and VR headsets, as well as more than 11 thousand games. The device weighs 48 kg and can withstand a load of up to 180 kg. The complex does not take up much space, but you can install it in 10-15 minutes.[1]
