SAP Cloud Platform is an open cloud platform SAP which gives opportunities for storage and data processing in SAP HANA and ASE and also in opensource-systems PostgreSQL, MongoDB and Hadoop.

2019

Availability in Microsoft Azure cloud

On December 5, 2019 Microsoft also SAP SE announced the conclusion of the large-scale partnership agreement of 'Embrace' on joint promotion on the market of products SAP S/4HANA and SAP Cloud Platform in cloud Microsoft Azure – from development of the concept to the organization of sales. Obtaining FSTEC certificate

On July 18, 2019 the SAP company announced obtaining certificates of the Federal Service for Technical and Export Control (FSTEC) of Russia on cloud solutions of SAP Cloud Platform, SAP Commerce Cloud (ex.SAP Hybris Commerce) and SAP Sales Cloud (ex. SAP Hybris Cloud for Customer). Certificates confirm that all implemented and stated safety features in SAP products function correctly.

According to the certificate, the software contains the built-in means of protecting from unauthorized access to information in which there is no state secret. Software implements functions of identification and authentication, access control and registration of events of security, conforms to requirements for security of information.

Solutions which underwent certification it is the services intended for work with large volumes of data, machine learning, Internet of Things and other technologies of management of industrial and corporate business processes. Software can be applied to creation of personal data information systems of 3 and 4 levels of security.

2018

Opening of free access

In December, 2018 SAP announced providing to partners free access to the cloud platform. The companies cooperating with the German vendor obtain the licenses to use PaaS-systems for development, testing and demonstration of solutions which work for SAP Cloud Platform and expand possibilities of the software of SAP.

According to new practice current partners of SAP can update the earlier paid subscriptions for free use of SAP Cloud Platform for a period of up to 12 months. New partners can select one of options of a subscription for the platform. It is possible to select one additional service from both cases and to 64 Gbytes of memory, provided by a corporate system of SAP HANA for SAP Cloud Platform.

SAP opened for partners free access to the cloud platform

By December, 2018 SAP has about 3700 partners who in a varying degree work with the cloud systems and software of the German company. Many of them (more than 70%) represent small and medium business to which SAP carries the companies with annual revenues to $1 billion.

According to the vice president and the head of partner business of SAP in North America Marc Monday, change in the strategy of licensing of a cloud platform will create new opportunities for ISV-, VAR-and MSP partner. The top manager noted that the company "does not know about all potential scenarios" which partners can use for treatment of benefit from new policy.^[1]

SAP does a big rate on partners and with reference to IDC says that they will earn about $200 billion total net proceeds from 2018 to 2023. At the same time more than 60% of net income of partners will fall on cloud services, and the companies concentrated on creation and sales of own software in a cloud will be will show growth by 24% during the period from 2018 to 2023.

Solution, joint with Vocord, for video identification of visitors

On September 13, 2018 the Vokord company reported that it together with SAP SE developed the solution for video identification of visitors of the Center of digital leadership of SAP by means of specialized cameras and the system of face recognition Vocord FaceControl and a cloud platform of SAP Cloud Platform. Development of multicloud strategy

The company SAP announced on June 7, 2018 active development of the multicloud strategy. The cloud platform of SCP is available based on Google Cloud Platform Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and also through all largest cloud providers.

At the same time, the company is going to start a private cloud of SAP Cloud Platform based on IBM Cloud. As envisioned by the company, it will allow clients from banking sector, health care and transport and also those industries where actively work with confidential data, to get access to flexible management and speed of cloud computing without prejudice to security and loss of control.

SAP also provided tool kit for development on SAP Cloud Platform for Android. It will open for clients access to difficult workflows via any device based on Android or Chrome OS.

Placement of SCP in the Moscow DPC

On October 10, 2017 the SAP company announced placement of the cloud platform of development of SAP Cloud Platform (SCP) in the Russian data processing center. According to SAP, Russia became the seventh country in which the company placed the platform, having invested several million euros in this project.

According to representatives of SAP, transfer of the platform in local DPC in Moscow is caused by great interest of the market to joint developments in clouds. Besides, it is essentially important to number of clients to store data in the territory of the Russian Federation, for other developments transfer was necessary for work with personal data in the territory of Russia. In general availability of SCP in local DPC increases performance of work of the platform for users from the CIS.

SCP comprises microservices for Internet of Things, a blockchain, machine learning, analytics of Big Data, information security. The cloud platform can be also used for application integration of SAP and other producers. At the minimum investments specialists have an opportunity of rapid development and connection of ready services instead of creation of all project from scratch, developers claim. According to SAP, the Russian companies on SCP already develop pilot scenarios in the field of scheduling of ambulance, optimization of warehouse resources, monitoring of refrigerating appliances, goods optimal price calculation using different mathematical models, formation of the optimal schedule and routes of loading of ATMs, creation of a parking cloud, use a blockchain in work of NPF and many others.

One of the first to use the solution for industrial Internet of Things developed on the SCP platform there was a NLMK company. Within continuation of cooperation with Rostelecom the SCP platform will also be placed in joint DPC of SAP and the Russian operator.

SAP Cloud Platform SDK for iOS

On February 27, 2017 Apple and SAP announced program tools for development of mobile business applications. Thanks to the new product which received the name SAP Cloud Platform SDK for IOS, the German company expects to expand the presence at software segment for smartphones and tablets.

SAP Cloud Platform SDK for iOS will allow software developers, using possibilities of the Swift programming language, to create the applications addressed to the large companies for iPhone. For example, the platform will allow the staff of the organizations to undergo authorization in the corporate software by reading of fingerprints on iPhone or to use smartphones as data collection terminals in warehouses.

Apple and SAP created the tool for development of business applications

Cooperation between our companies has no analogs from the technical point of view — the senior vice president of SAP Rick Knowles says. — Each five-six weeks we bring together our developers in one office with lead engineers of Apple for the analysis of source codes.

As notes Reuters agency, joint tools of SAP and Apple will help developers with data integration between the business focused systems of SAP and the IOS-APPLICATIONS ground under consumers. SAP Cloud Platform SDK for iOS containing a set of the preconfigured components of user interfaces will open simple access to the different iPhone functions, including to locational services, notifications and Touch ID.

According to App Annie analytical company, in 2016 from App Store 30 billion applications were downloaded that is 12% more, than the previous year. About 75% of revenue of shop fell on games.

Exit of SAP Cloud Platform SDK is planned for March 30, 2017. Later the program the training program for SAP Academy for IOS developers will be started.^[2]
