SAP Digital Farming

In the first half of the year 2017 in Russia there has to be well new solution of SAP — SAP Digital Farming (A digital farm) intended for the agro-industrial enterprises. About it the representative of TAdviser in April was told by Alexey Shchennikov, the director of Institute for Information Technology and automated design of MIREA.

The institute is engaged in localization of SAP Digital Farming for the Russian market in close cooperation with colleagues from SAP in Valdorf. It needs to be adapted taking into account features of the Russian legislation, industry standards, climatic conditions, the list of the grown-up crops, etc.

The SAP Digital Farming functions include planning of field works and management of them, purchase management of materials, sales of products, accounting of agricultural machinery and monitoring of its work in fields in real time, accounting of constructions, control of work of employees in fields, formation of production and financial analytics of the enterprise in different cuts and many other things.

The solution can be integrated with technologies of Internet of Things and process information from sensors: for example, weathers, soil statuses, etc. Also it can be integrated with different maps and GIS at availability API at them.

It is possible to watch works in fields in real time

SAP Digital Farming uses program SAP components, for example, a cloud platform of SAP Hana Cloud and SAP Business Objects, but in it also the Russian developments, algorithms substantially priststvut, Alexey Shchennikov noted. Students of 3-4 courses of institute also took part in localization of the solution, he added.

At the expense of a considerable share of local development it is possible to expect that the product will cheaper cost, than the global version of SAP Digital Farming, the representative of a command of localization believes. According to him, the speech can go about at least double reduction in cost.

According to Alexey Shchennikov, the solution is going to be sold in Russia as a cloud service. In plans — to distribute it to clients from local DPC of SAP in Moscow located on the platform of Rostelecom. At the same time, at the request of the client the solution can be deployed also on its party.

In the solution it is possible to browse performance indicators of economy

It is going to advance the solution both in commercial, and in public sector. Alexey Shchennikov told that in parallel with localization there is a communication with the Ministry of Agriculture including this solution in recommendations for use in the state agro-industrial farms.

According to Alexey Shchennikov, as of the middle of April the solution is almost completely adapted, but it is necessary to approve residual completions with the German SAP and to complete filling of directories of the solution sorts of the crops which are grown up in Russia, the types of fertilizers used in Russia, etc.

In the test mode the solution is deployed for farm "Beaver park" in the Kaluga region, Alexey Shchennikov told TAdviser. One of cultures which it grows up are potatoes. On this economy the command of localization fulfills technologies.

At the initial stage the solution is localized for a rastenevodstvo. According to Alexey Shchennikov, the functionality for livestock production will be implemented further.

Abroad by the beginning of 2017 there are examples of industrial SAP implementations of Digital Farming. Alexey Shchennikov says that it is used in farms in Brazil and the Republic of South Africa for cultivation of coffee.
