Foundation for Health is the created SAP system of collecting and the analysis of medical data, such as results of clinical trials, electronic stories of diseases, sequences of human genome, etc. Foundation for Health is constructed on the platform DBMS SAP Hana which by the beginning of December, 2015 about 10 thousand clients use worldwide.
2015: Announcement of Foundation for Health
On December 8, 2015 SAP announced the Foundation for Health system created at the initiative of the CEO of the company Bill McDermott. He began to pay special attention to medical projects after accident as a result of which he lost an eye.
In July, 2015 Bill McDermott, being in the house of the brother in the USA, fell from a ladder and unsuccessfully landed on glass splinters of a glass which got to it into the left eye. About a week the head of SAP lay in intensive care unit, but, unfortunately, the visual body did not manage to be saved. Despite it it continued work and began to appear in public in dark glasses.
According to Makdermott, during treatment he saw how doctors exchange important information on health by means of sending Sms in mobile phones.
"How it can be what text correspondence is the only form of real communication? They work in one system and well do it. I love and I respect them for it, but I think that we can make something better for them" — Bill McDermott at the November EY Strategic Growth Forum 2015 conference said during the speech.
On its initiative the product Foundation for Health which main idea is in that doctors and researchers could implement new medicines and methods of treatment on an individual basis or to groups of patients was created, Bloomberg tells.
"The personalized medicine in many respects is similar to CRM" — the CEO of SAP said.
Based on Foundation for Health the SAP Medical Insights program helping to analyze results of clinical trials, state-of-health data of health of the population, the created drugs, etc. for the purpose of identification of trends and patterns was started.[1]
