SAS Grid Manager

Product
Developers: SAS Institute Inc. (SAS Institute)
Last Release Date: 2014/12/15
Technology: Network Health Monitoring - Monitoring of network or management of health performance of IT Infrastructure

SAS Grid Manager is the system of distributed computing which instead of work on one big server starts processes at the same time on several servers, brings together them in a uniform cluster, providing the high speed and reliability of execution of transactions.

Properties

  • Helps to reassign computing resources during peak loads or the changing requirements of business. SAS Grid Manager provides the centralized control for administration the politician, programs, queues and priorities of work of a set of types of users and applications.

  • In the presence in networked environment of several servers, processing of tasks is executed by the most available resources. If the server failed, its loading is imperceptible for users will be postponed for other server. Maintenance of certain servers can be executed without interrupting work of analysts or to add computing resources without stopping business processes.

  • Multiprocessor opportunities allow to separate specific objectives into subtasks which will be processed in parallel. Programs with big data sets and long operating time and also those that carry out repeatedly independent tasks started on big data sets best of all are suitable for parallel processing. The increased processing speed accelerates decision making process at the enterprise.

  • The product helps to use all available computing resources at once then to scale their power, if necessary - to add capacity to single-processor devices for deduction under expense control on IT as a system supports a possibility of gradual building of resources by inexpensive hardware. Also there is no need - at once to create a system which capacities, as expected, can be necessary in several years.
