2017: Announcement
In April 2017, SITA, an international company specializing in the development of solutions in the field of information and telecommunications systems, and aircraft manufacturer Airbus Group announced the Security Operations Center Services program, which involves the provision of cybersecurity services in the aviation industry.
The purpose of this initiative was to inform airlines, airports and other participants in the aviation industry about unusual activity in cyberspace, which can pose a threat to their activities.
At the request of its customers, Security Operations Center Services will take measures to contain and mitigate cyber attacks, thus guaranteeing the protection of their digital assets.
Air travel is an integral part of Airbus's DNA, so it was completely natural for us to join forces with SITA to adapt our innovative cybersecurity solutions to the requirements of the airline industry, which is currently showing exponential growth, "says François Lavaste, head of Airbus CyberSecurity. - Our standard solution combines services that enable real-time monitoring of applications and communications used by air carriers with emergency response services. |
The Security Operations Center Service program was the first product in SITA's new line of solutions and services designed to counter cyber threats. This line will help airlines and airports recognize threats emanating from cyberspace to their assets and respond adequately to them, the company says.[1]
