2023: System Purpose

The domestic digital system for monitoring stability reserves (CMPS) in the controlled section (a set of power lines) is a software and hardware complex developed by STC UES JSC together with SO UES JSC. The system is designed to calculate the maximum permissible flows (MIS) in real time, which allows taking into account the current changes in the circuit-mode situation in the power system. Thus, the system provides additional opportunities to use the throughput capacity of the electric network and select the optimal algorithm for controlling the modes of the power system without reducing its reliability level. In some cases, this digital system can become an alternative to the construction of new power lines.

The introduction of SMZU is a real step towards the digitalization of power, along with the introduction of centralized third-generation emergency automation systems in power systems and remote control of substation equipment. The use of digital technologies in the electric power industry makes it possible to obtain a significant positive effect by building more effective models of technological and business process control on their basis.
