The solution SafeNet Authentication Manager (SAM) is intended for control of hardware of authentication of users in enterprise scales.

SAM promotes cost reduction on maintenance of information systems due to automation of standard transactions, such as release and personalisation of smart cards and USB keys, removal of blocking of the password, updating of certificates in the self-service mode via the Web interface, etc. System implementation of SafeNet Authentication Manager allows to reduce total cost of ownership an information system (TCO) and to increase return by investments (ROI) and also increases security and controllability of corporate IT-systems, transferring administration control and audit to qualitatively new level.

The SafeNet Authentication Manager system it is intended for creation of infrastructure of strict authentication as parts of a system of ensuring secure access to information resources of the enterprise.

The most demanded scopes of infrastructure of strict authentication are:

  • ensuring remote access of employees, partners to information resources of the enterprise;
  • ensuring mobile access to information resources of the enterprise from any mobile device from any point of the Internet;
  • ensuring access to the information resources which are subject to protection according to requirements of the legislation of the Russian Federation, industry and international standards, other regulating documents;
  • ensuring access of employees to the most critical information resources of the enterprise;
  • ensuring access of clients to critical applications;
  • ensuring access to the systems of the employees having the maximum powers (administrators).

The SafeNet Authentication Manager system supports the following options of strict authentication:

  • authentication by certificates – in this option of authentication the user shows the personal digital certificate of public key; the private key is stored in the protected part of the key eToken carrier;
  • authentication by the difficult password – in this option of authentication a difficult personal user password is stored in the protected part of the key eToken carrier; for access to it the user connects eToken and enters a short PIN code; · authentication by one-time passwords – in this option of authentication the user every time enters the new one-time password; one-time passwords for the user are generated by means of the strengthened authentication.

SafeNet Authentication Manager (SAM) 8.0

SAM serves for management of lifecycle of means of authentication. A system supports all types and models of electronic keys eToken. The version of SAM 8.0 SP3 incorporated all advantages of the previous versions of a product and includes some new improvements:

  • Possibilities of authentication in cloud applicaions are expanded.
  • Possibilities of program generators of one-time passwords (MobilePASS) are expanded.
  • There was a possibility of authentication by one-time passwords in the domain MS Windows.
  • New plug-ins for authentication by one-time passwords are added.

The Certified Information Systems company, official distributor of solutions SafeNet in Russia, announced in December, 2012 obtaining the certificate of the Federal Service for Technical and Export Control (FSTEC of Russia) on the complex platform of management of lifecycle of means of authentication of the enterprise — SafeNet Authentication Manager 8.0 SP3 (SAM). Advantages of use of the certified version of this solution providing management of all range of means of authentication of SafeNet of one-time passwords (OTP), to the products based on use of digital certificates became available to the Russian customers.

The certificate of conformity of FSTEC of Russia No. 2769 of December 3, 2012 confirms that the software of SafeNet Authentication Manager 8.0 SP3 developed by SafeNet Inc company. and the made Sertifitsirovannye informatsionnye sistemy LLC, is the software tool of protection against unauthorized access to information which is not containing the data which are the state secret and protection against unauthorized access to information conforms to requirements of the regulating document ". Part 1. Information security software. Classification by the level of absence control of not declared opportunities" (State Technical Commission of Russia, 1999) on the 4th level of control and also can be used during creation of automated systems to a class of security 1G inclusive and personal data information systems up to 1 class inclusive.

Identification and authentication of users, differentiation of access rights, audit of actions of subjects of a system during the work with different authenticators belong to these indicators of security (both the hardware authenticators of CBA, and OTP and program authenticators allowing to perform two-factor authentication in services and the systems of the corporate level are included in this list).

SafeNet Authentication Manager 8.0 SP3 provides to the organizations a single complex platform of management of lifecycle of means of authentication and also the expansion of opportunities of strict authentication on cloud infrastructure of the company used as the single integrated systems. Besides, SafeNet Authentication Manager provides access for corporate users to information resources of the enterprise from uniform point of entry.

The certified version of SafeNet Authentication Manager 8.0 SP3 will allow the Russian customers who are actively using solutions of SafeNet for multifactor authentication to create secure information systems in strict accordance with requirements of the Russian legislation. Besides, the staff of the companies using the certified version of SAM will get secure access to corporate resources and applications not only in the stationary workplaces and from office mobile devices, but also from personal smartphones and tablet computers within a controlled zone.
