"Office control and DLP Safetica" 9.5: An opportunity to implement the policy of DLP for the Exchange Online mail
On April 9, 2020 Eset announced an exit of upgraded version of the solution "Office Control and DLP Safetica".
In Office Control and DLP Safetica version 9.5 the functions especially relevant for protection of IT infrastructure of the enterprises in the conditions of mass transition to the mode of remote work are improved.
Special attention is paid integration with Office 365, now it is possible to implement the policy of DLP for e-mail Exchange Online. Except audit of e-mail on working and home computers and mobile devices, DLP politicians can be also applied to to data, sent from them. Function of recognition of confidential is implemented information and maintaining logs and blocking of incidents directly on cloud mail will lock its sendings by email and also server.
In this version of the solution support of the web applications using end-to-end enciphering is improved. Among them there are popular messengers, such as Telegram and WhatsApp which are actively used for the operational solution of corporate tasks.
In addition, in "Office control and DLP Safetica" 9.5 permanent marking of files on the basis of metadata is improved. The updated technology of classification is used for application of the contextual rules DLP to the files sent from the protected endpoints.

Integration with Fortinet, additional notifications of DLP and expanded notifications about cumulative violations of policy
Safetica — the partner of the information security expert, ESET company — provided upgraded version of the solution "Office Control and DLP Safetica" which allows to provide more effective protection of endpoints of the enterprise regardless of location of employees. On January 28, 2020 the ESET company reported about it.
A DLP system (Data Leak Prevention, "Data loss prevention") — one of the most effective technologies which helps to close the main channels of leaks, to prevent losses and even to make the forecast of potentially dangerous actions of employees before they lead to dead time and means. According to Ponemone Institute, the financial damage which is suffered by the companies because of information leaks on average reaches $3.9 million. Moreover, this cyberthreat is relevant for Russia as in 2019 to year every fifth company suffered from accidental date leaks.
In the version of Safetica 9.3 the alternative contextual classification using permanent metadata instead of NTFS tags is implemented. Thanks to it, this version supports devices on to the operating system macOS that allows to book audit of activity of personnel. The full complex DLP solution for the end of January is available only on computers with OS Windows.
Additional notifications of DLP and expanded notifications about cumulative violations of policy are also entered.
In addition, in the provided version of a product the possibility of downloading of the files connected with cyber security incidents on the Safetica server is available. It allows to use the specified files as physical evidences at investigation of a cyberincident.
One of the major updates — integration with Fortinet through API Fortigate. If the device is connected to corporate network, then all data passing through the gateway FortiGate are compared with categories Safetica. So even if on an endpoint Safetica is not set, data will be checked for compliance to politicians when passing via the gateway FortiGate.
Thus, thanks to integration of Safetica with Fortinet (FortiGate, FortiMail and FortiSIEM), it is possible to recognize easily information, to protect a confidential information or to create an end-to-end system of management of threats at the minimum costs of time and resources.
2018: Functions of hybrid data filtering
On November 20, 2018 the ESET company submitted the next version of the solution "Office Control and DLP Safetica" in Russia and the CIS. According to the company, in a product functions of hybrid data filtering and control of communication channels and also support of multidomain structure are implemented.
In the updated Safetica the content filter is implemented (earlier the solution supported only contextual filtering). Additional content rules provide more reliable data protection and minimize false operations.
The Control of Channels function allows to limit transfer of confidential information in outgoing communication channels: e-mail and messengers (including web clients) and also when loading files on any websites. The network administrator can set exceptions – domains of the safe area where sending investments or loading of files will be resolved.
The next version of Safetica supports multidomain structure and is compatible to a set of services and Microsoft Office applications 365.
The updated WebSafetica web console allows network administrators to spend a minimum of time for solution management. The improved interface provides the overview of collected data in a convenient format, important events are taken out in a summary dashboard. WebSafetica works in any browser.
In the next version of Safetica determination of confidential data is optimized. The built-in algorithms, a key word and expanded rules for regular expressions are provided. Besides, Safetica supports third-party means for classification of confidential files.
Also determination and a categorization of programs for cryptomining is provided in upgraded version of a product.

According to the company, Safetica closes all main channels of date leak and protects from a broad spectrum of the threats caused by a human factor. At the same time the solution not only protects from leaks, but also reveals similar cases of harmful behavior. The management receives reports on suspicious activity of employees before their activity causes the actual damage to the company.

How it works
The workstation — an endpoint with which the user interacts. Employees work with crucial business data, go on-line, receive and send e-mail, direct documents to the printer, connect removable mediums. Safetica DLP is unrolled by the agent (Safetica Endpoint Client) on workstations and keeps in regular contact with them via the server (Service Management Safetica). The server creates the database of activity of employees at workstations and extends security policies to each device or the user.
