Sigma Lite/Lite Plus is biometric readers.

On September 26, 2016 the Safran company announced release of the biometric readers Sigma Lite and Sigma Lite Plus.

Devices are implemented on the basis of the ARM Cortex-A9 core processor of 1 GHz and provide the recognition algorithm developed by Safran according to the papillary drawing.

The product was supplied with the vandal proof body, the optical sensor with the resolution of 500 dpi and the powerful processor with a biometric algorithm of recognition on fingerprints. The biometric reader Sigma Lite Plus is equipped by 2.8' the touch screen with the user interface, construction of the Sigma Lite model is simpler - with the LED indicator. Both models are capable to service to 250 thousand users in the mode of verification and up to 10 thousand in the mode of biometric identification. Devices are supplied with the interfaces RS-422/485, Wiegand and the Web server that allows to configure and administer them using the PC, the notebook or the smartphone.

Accuracy of identification of the readers Sigma Lite/Lite Plus provides the recognition algorithm according to the papillary drawing implemented on the platform of the ARM Cortex-A9 core processor of 1 GHz. The algorithm calculates false parts on a fingerprint, including pollution, microcuts and excludes them from the subsequent digital processing. For obtaining the qualitative image of the papillary drawing the biometric reader uses fiber unit with the increased area of reading (14х22 mm) and with a resolution of 500 dots per inch. Both biometric models provide the high speed of work and a low error probability, both false admission, and false failure in admission.

Dimensions and construction features allow to install the Sigma series readers Safran on tourniquets, frames of glass/aluminium doors and other narrow surfaces.

Sigma Lite is basic model, it is supplied with the LED indicator of operation.

The biometric reader Sigma Lite Plus is equipped with the color 2.8-inch touch display and enhanced interactive capabilities - touch function keys allow to use this biometrics device as the terminal of a system of accounting of working time.

Operation of readers in the Identification or Verification modes helps to provide the required security level at access control. In the Identification mode service to 10 thousand users on a fingerprint is possible, in the Verification mode the biometric reader provides recognition to 250 thousand users, authenticating them on prints a finger, to RFID cards of the Prox, iCLASS, MIFARE, MIFARE Plus and DESFire standards, smartphones with the NFC chip and/or on the PIN code (for Sigma Lite Plus).

In devices biometric protection against counterfeit fingerprints (models) and pass identification "under duress" is implemented.

Sigma Lite and Sigma Lite Plus can be used in the temperature range from-20 to +50 °C, correspond to a class of climatic protection IP65 and shock resistance of IK08, it allows to set them in and out of premises. At the same time for management of work of an electrical lock each biometric reader of a series is supplied with the relay, for interaction with other reader devices and the controller of a system — the Wiegand interface, for data transmission — RJ-45 and RS-422/485 ports. Sigma Lite/Lite Plus devices can receive power supply on an Ethernet network (PoE technology).

The built-in Web server simplifies setup and service of the readers Sigma Lite at their integration into network systems of access control, providing remote configuring of devices, registration of users in the ACS database when receiving templates of prints directly from the reader, etc.

The compatibility of the Web server with operating systems Windows, Android also Apple iOS allows to control the reader with the PC, notebooks or mobile devices any browser, including Google Chrome Mozilla Firefox Safari , etc. As an option biometrics devices can be equipped Wi-Fi- the module.
