2024: Product Announcement

In September 2024, greenhouses with the possibility of satellite control were presented in Russia, which became a new stage in the development of automated agricultural technologies. It was created at the Korolev Samara University (SamSTU).

The university has developed automatic greenhouses that can work completely autonomously and be controlled remotely. The project aims to simplify the process of growing plants at home.

Greenhouses with satellite control began to be produced in Russia

According to Samara University, the development includes a highly automated control system based on the STM32 microcontroller, originally developed for the educational designer of superminiature spacecraft. The greenhouse's electronics allow it to function without human involvement for up to 30 days, controlling all major processes - from lighting to watering and maintaining the required temperature. The mobile application and satellite module provide the ability to control the greenhouse from anywhere on the planet.

One of the key features of this greenhouse is its ability to select the optimal parameters for growing various plant species. It is enough for the user to choose the type of plant, and the system will independently configure all processes, including the duration of the daylight hours and the frequency of watering. This makes the use of the greenhouse as easy and accessible as possible even for people without agronomic knowledge.

The author of the project, student Polina Yakovleva, noted that thanks to the developed electronics, the greenhouse will be able not only to maintain conditions for plant growth, but also to collect data on the process of their development. This can be useful for both private users and scientists conducting experiments on the effects of various climatic conditions on plants. The size of the greenhouse is 0.5 x 1 x 1 m, which makes it convenient for accommodation at home.[1]
