2025: Samsung End of Support
At the end of November 2024, Samsung announced the end of support for DeX technology, which allows Galaxy smartphones and tablets to be connected to Windows-based computers to launch the desktop version of the One UI firmware. VMware Horizon Integration
On April 6, 2017, VMware announced the integration of VMware Horizon and Samsung Desktop Experience (DeX). This move by the companies will allow end users to connect the Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone to the docking station and use full-fledged desktops and Windows applications on the device using a single set of credentials.
Access to Windows applications, mobile and cloud applications will be provided through VMware Workspace ONE through a shared digital environment.

Samsung Desktop Experience
Samsung Desktop Experience (DeX) is a docking station. The device is focused on improving the productivity of employees working remotely through mobile devices.
Dex provides Android devices with PC functionality, allowing you to work in applications, edit documents, visit websites, watch videos and respond to messages on your smartphone using a large screen, keyboard and mouse.
The docking station is equipped with two USB 2.0 ports, an Ethernet interface, a USB Type-C connector, a fan and support for Adaptive Fast Charging (AFC) to charge the smartphone battery.
With the Galaxy S8 smartphone connected to DeX, users will have access to the Android interface, optimized for the large screen, keyboard and mouse. The OS supports the display of several windows of different sizes, context menus and a desktop browser.
