2019: Integration with ALE Rainbow and Samsung Knox

On February 14, 2019 the ALE company (Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise brand) together with Samsung Electronics Singapore announced the conclusion of strategic partnership and development of the integrated mobile solution which will help the companies to create working environments of the future.

According to the company, the purpose of ALE and Samsung – to solve the difficulties arising at deployment of mobile working solutions. They include security issues, compliances to regulatory requirements, control of network and use of mobile devices for the personal and working purposes. Having integrated in one development of function of communication, security, information exchange, computer calculations and the cloud applicaion for joint work, the companies proposed the solution with an inexpensive subscription fee.

The mobility and productivity of the solution guarantee the leading developments of two companies: Samsung DeX docking station for mobile devices, Samsung Knox technology for security and the Alcatel-Lucent Rainbow platform. The solution can be adapted according to specific requirements of the companies. It is also effectively integrated with business processes, applications and technologies (including artificial intelligence and bots), providing simple implementation at any stage of project implementation of digital transformation. The solution will be available in Singapore with the I quarter of 2019.

Jobs gradually will be transformed and become more and more mobile. Smartphones and cloud computing are the cornerstone of this transformation. Development of the innovative solutions and implementation of open joint projects are key conditions for change of working environments. Samsung signed the partnership agreement with ALE for the creation protected, the integrated communication solution which in the future will expand functionality of specialists.

Joint development will allow the Singapore companies to implement the protected solution with control functions of the corporate level intended for mobile employees. ALE is glad to an opportunity to implement the joint project with Samsung company and to help the companies in the course of digital transformation.

2017

VMware Horizon integration

On April 6, 2017 the VMware company announced integration of VMware Horizon and Samsung Desktop Experience (DeX). This step of the companies will allow end users to connect the Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone to a docking station and to use on the device full-fledged desktops and Windows applications using a uniform set of credentials.

Access to Windows applications, mobile and cloud will be provided by means of VMware Workspace ONE through the general digital environment.

VMware and Samsung have the general vision of how to help users of Galaxy S8 to apply most effectively functions of the device and at the same time to provide convenience of work. Our expanded partnership will allow corporate users to be even more productive. The unified digital working environment provides the continuity of their work. They will be able to use the mobile device in a workplace, having connected it to the monitor, the keyboard and a mouse, or to manage it from a palm using touches and gestures — this opportunity brings work of mobile employees to other level.

According to the statement, integration will help the companies to unify work of employees in their work from different devices. Work of the user becomes simpler and safer at the general model of identification using uniform login. Protection of corporate information in DPC is provided to Horizon, and on the device — Samsung Knox and VMware AirWatch.

The successful long-term cooperation between Samsung and VMware realized in VMware AirWatch helped many customers to implement BYO and corporate mobility worldwide. Expansion of our partnership in the field of providing virtual desktops and applications by means of digital working spaces via Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung DeX will give to customers even more wide choice of technologies in the class.

Samsung Desktop Experience

Samsung Desktop Experience (DeX) is a docking station. The device is focused on performance improvement of the employees working far off by means of mobile devices.

Dex provides to devices on the Android platform functionality of the PC, allowing to work in applications, to edit documents, to visit websites, to watch video and to respond to messages on the smartphone, using the big screen, the keyboard and a mouse.

Samsung Desktop Experience, (2017)

The docking station is equipped with two ports USB 2.0, the Ethernet-interface, the USB connector Type-C, the fan and support of the Adaptive Fast Charging (AFC) function for smartphone accumulator charging.

With connection of the Galaxy S8 smartphone to DeX, users the Android interface optimized to the big screen, the keyboard and a mouse will become available. OS supports display of several windows of the different sizes, context menus and the desktop browser.
