2022: Samsung reports problems in washing rooms
On December 22, 2022, Samsung Electronics, in collaboration with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), reported a problem affecting washing machines.
We are talking about some models of the South Korean giant with vertical loading. There is a possibility of overheating of the control panel. In this case, smoke, melting of the housing elements and even ignition of the device can be observed. The defect is present in 14 models of washing machines manufactured between June 2021 and December 2022. The number of recorded incidents and injuries is not reported. But it says that the problem can be fixed through a software update.
Consumers should immediately check to see if their washing machine software has been updated to prevent danger. If not, it is necessary to immediately stop using the device - until the software is updated, the company said in a statement. |
Samsung is partnering with CPSC to distribute the update to owners of defective stylish machines as quickly as possible. These are devices of the WA49B5105, WA49B5205, WA50B5100, WA51A5505, WA52A5500, WA54A7305, WA55A7300 and WA55A7700 series. The manufacturer also gives recommendations for using washing machines with and without Wi-Fi support.
Machines equipped with Wi-Fi must remain connected to a power source and automatically download a free software update. Consumers whose washing machines do not have Wi-Fi capabilities should immediately stop using the device and contact Samsung directly to get free electronic media to download and install the software, the company said.[1] |
