Sberbank: SberJDK

SberJDK is a Russian build of the development environment (JDK) and execution (JRE) of Java applications, based on the open source project OpenJDK and complying with the Java SE standard, which guarantees compatibility with all applications written according to this standard. This is an important stage in the transformation and strengthening of the technological foundation of Sberbank to create new products.

2024: SberJDK Presentation

Sberbank consistently implements a strategy for import substitution and the transition to its own solutions. Until the end of 2024, we are implementing our own environment for the development and execution of Java applications SberJDK. This was announced by Andrey Belevtsev, Senior Vice President, Head of the Technological Development Unit of Sberbank, on June 27, 2024.

Sberbank has a large Java stack that requires complete control over the product, while complying with all security requirements. Access to highly loaded systems from completely different areas opens up opportunities for creating your own solutions, and most importantly contributes to meeting the needs of Sberbank not only in terms of security, but also in system support, optimization of loads, costs and consistent development of products.
