BIM Electrical Design 2.1 with the updated module of reports
On July 27, 2020 it became known that Schneider Electric, the company on providing digital solutions in the field of management of the electric power and automation, released the next version of a plug-in for design of BIM Electrical Design 2.1.
The set of changes for more effective design is presented in this version: functions of the program are improved, the module of reports is updated, the feature for setup of Internet access from the closed networks is added.
Important part of updating is complete reconsideration of the module of reports allowing to create single line diagrams, cable schedules, specifications. For the last year, after start of a plug-in of version 1.0, this module did not change, at the same time functions on work with model considerably extended. With release of version 2.1 this module received the following functions:
- an opportunity to create several reports at the same time;
- analysis of number of the text and replacement of height of lines;
- report settings under any type of the sheet, including corporate;
- copying of settings;
- print preview of sheets and reports;
- updating of all of reports;
- export to Excel;
- the separate module for single line diagrams which allows to create single line diagrams on all boards in the project at once.
For work with reports the interface of a tape via which it is possible to perform navigation between modules of reports, sheets and reports is also changed.
In BIM Electrical Design 2.1 steels are available to use the following functions:
- creation of standby circuits;
- full support of two-phase chains;
- visualization of process of work of functions which show work of algorithms of a plug-in;
- setup of algorithms of calculations which are added to a tape;
- support of net surfing with limited Internet accesses.
Download the provided version of a plug-in and look at detailed information and documentation it is possible from the partner Schneider Electric portal for designers. Updating directly from a plug-in BIM Electrical Design is available to users of version 2.0.
Release of BIM Electrical Design for the software package Autodesk Revit
On February 5, 2020 the Schneider Electric company provided a plug-in BIM Electrical Design for the software package Autodesk Revit.
According to the developer, BIM Electrical Design is a tool for quality improvement and the speed of design of electrical systems for any objects. Using technologies of BIM modeling, the Schneider Electric software product allows to create a qualitative digital 3D model of a power supply system which will be involved further at all stages of lifecycle of the building – from design Existence of digital model of the building allows to reduce quantity of errors in the project to operation, simplifies interaction of all participants of design process and construction and reduces its cost.
According to the statement of the developer, BIM Electrical Design has a full range of the tools and services necessary for carrying out calculations and selection of the equipment with support of digital power supply systems and industrial Internet of Things. The interface of a plug-in is built in the Autodesk Revit interface that gives the chance to use it in design process. With its help the designer sees complete network topology, the equipment list and also detailed information on the selected panel. Special modules of a plug-in visualize an electrical circuit with calculated parameters and the protective equipment for each departing line.
The integrated base of the equipment, allows to project power supply systems for any buildings, including for objects with high power consumption. With its help it is possible to pick up and add to the project all necessary devices, including additional contacts, control devices, measuring instruments and digital modules for data transmission, claim in Schneider Electric.
Integration into a plug-in of access to cloud services of Schneider Electric company with a possibility of use them in the course of work will allow to optimize project solutions and to carry out the additional analysis of compatibility of the used equipment.
As noted in Schneider Electric, BIM Electrical Design allows to create an intelligent network of power supply, to integrate it into the system of power accounting and management of the building and also it is essential to accelerate process of preparation of the project documentation.
2018: Announcement of BIM Electrical Design 1.0
The Schneider Electric company, the world expert in management of energy and automation, announced on October 3, 2018 start of the special software product which will allow to develop and issue effectively the project on power supply in BIM — BIM Electrical Design 1.0.
Use of BIM technologies in design of large infrastructure facilities reduces errors and inaccuracies in the project documentation which can be critical for construction and operation of the building to 60% — Dmitry Bibik, the director of the department of work with Schneider Electric design institutes noted. — At a construction stage it allows to lower costs to 30% and to accelerate terms for 22% and also to reduce quantity of legal claims. |
