In May, 2014 Schneider Electric provided Integrated Planning and Optimization Solution (IPOS) — the integrated solution for the mining enterprises allowing to manage all transactions from production before shipment of finished goods. The solution allows to optimize planning, to reveal risks and deviations, to increase efficiency and to provide reliable information to responsible persons in due time. The solution IPOS allows the mining enterprises to increase performance to 20%, using information for operational management.
The solution helps the mining enterprises to collect, to integrate and analyze information from different divisions for receiving complex idea of all transactions. Such approach helps to get rid of the isolated, inexact and untimely data. IPOS models a supply chain, including mines, enrichment factories, dumps, transport routes and port transactions, predicting operability of all chain. The solution allows the companies to watch both all supply chain, and separate transactions. IPOS analyzes contextual data on processes to provide more exact forecasts and in advance to reveal and help to solve the predicted difficulties.
IPOS helps heads to lose scenarios "that-if" and to start different simulations on the basis of data retrieveds — Diego Areces, the president of the direction Mining, Minerals and Metals of Schneider Electric company told. — This solution changes rules of the game as it allows heads to lose different scenarios before making the decision on selection of investments on the new direction. We are proud that we could together with our partners in the industry create the solution allowing to control more accurately a supply chain and to avoid undesirable idle times".
IPOS is based on the scalable Schneider Electric StruxureWareT platform for the mining, mineral and raw and metallurgical industries including tools for effective management of energy and fixed assets. The platform allows to integrate new tools as required.
