Security Studio Endpoint Protection (SSEP)

Security Studio Endpoint Protection (SSEP) the  —   certified, complete software solution providing security blanket of the automated workplace (AW) from external threats according to requirements of FSTEC in the field of personal data protection. The protective functionality of SSEP includes the firewall (SSEP Personal Firewall), the sensor of invasions (SSEP HIPS) and an antivirus (SSEP Antivirus).

Description of basic functionality

Features of SSEP:

• The sensor of invasions (protection against unknown threats) constructed based on the licensed technology of Agnitum company — one of the most innovative means of counteraction to information leaks (according to independent testing of Matousec)
• Together with the information security facility from NSD Secret Net allows to create the comprehensive certified protection of jobs in ISPDN
• Different options of delivery under different tasks, including a possibility of use of the firewall and sensor of invasions of SSEP with third-party antivirus software
• Does not require labor costs on segmentation of network unlike traditional means of protecting of perimeter

Security Studio Endpoint Protection (SSEP) consists of three functional parts using Agnitum technology for a basis:

• SSEP Firewall
• Sensor of invasions (SSEP HIPS)
• SSEP Antivirus.

The product allows to fulfill in a complex the requirements of the Federal law "About Personal Data" (No. 152-FZ) regarding data protection in information systems using firewalls, antiviruses and sensors of invasions.

Three FSTEC certificates of Russia on solution components (SSEP Personal Firewall, SSEP HIPS, SSEP Antivirus) allow to use a product for protection of the computers processing both personal data, and confidential information.

In a product line of information security tools of Code of Security company with release of Security Studio Endpoint Protection changes are planned. They concerned a product of the personal firewall of PME "Continent-AP". According to representatives of Code of Security company this personal firewall will be removed from sales since March 1, 2011. However, according to Code of Security, requirements of the companies for personal firewalls will be satisfied with other products entering a line of Code of Security company namely the products SSEP and Trust Acces.

Supported operating systems: MS Windows of 2000 Server SP4, MS Windows Server 2003 SP2, MS Windows Server 2008, MS Windows XP SP3, MS Windows Vista SP1.

In April, 2011 the module Administration Center intended for execution of operations on centralized operation by the system of protection Security Studio Endpoint Protection (SSEP) is released.

The SSEP Administration Center tool which is a part of upgraded version is the free application intended for centralized operation and deployment of a client part. The module allows to control the system of protection of corporate network effectively. Existence of a possibility of centralized operation raises the security level of corporate computer systems and reduces human and time expenditure by administration of a system of protection of SSEP.

Administration Center is the convenient tool which is a part of the solution SSEP and having a full range of opportunities for management and monitoring of a system of protection. Basic functions of Administration Center are:

• the centralized software installation Security Studio Endpoint Protection on the protected computers of a local network and also removal of this software;
• remote setup and configuration management of the set software;
• the centralized collection of information about work of all installed programs and tracking of correctness of their work.

Administration Center also allows the administrator to monitor work of all protective SSEP components and to quickly reveal security incidents arising in network workplaces. Using this tool it is possible:

• create groups and set for them certain security policies,
• carry out installation and software updating according to the schedule (for example, to not working time when users do not use computers).

These and other functions and possibilities of the module Administration Center do use of the solution SSEP in corporate network more effective and convenient.

2013

Security Studio Endpoint Protection 7

Changes concerned, first of all, the list of supported platforms - in the new version of Security Studio Endpoint Protection it included Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 OS.

Also the SSEP tool which is a part for the centralized deployment and management of a client part which allows to control the system of protection of corporate network effectively underwent updates. Now Administration Center gives the chance to manage protection gears in network of the big enterprises numbering thousands of automated jobs.

It is important to note that the information security facility Security Studio Endpoint Protection 7 underwent inspection control in FSTEC that means compliance to earlier received certificates on all solution components (SSEP Personal Firewall, SSEP HIPS, SSEP Antivirus) and allows to use a product for protection of the computers processing both personal data, and confidential information.

The new version with a new core

The new version of Security Studio Endpoint Protection (SSEP) will differ in the updated anti-virus core, the new scheme of activation of a product, the press service of Code of Security company reported on August 1, 2013.

The product will pass certification tests in FSTEC of Russia for obtaining the certificate of conformity according to new requirements to SOV on the 4th class of protection and to means of antivirus protection on the 4th class of protection and also on compliance to requirements of absence of NDV for the 4th level of control and to requirements to ME on the 4th class of security.

The Code of Security company announced transition to iterative development of information security tools, it will allow to update completely until the end of 2013 a product line and to release a number of new products.

Security Studio Endpoint Protection 7.6

The Code of Security company announced an exit of technical release of the product Security Studio Endpoint Protection 7.6 on August 15, 2013.

In the new version of the information security facility Security Studio Endpoint Protection (SSEP):

• the anti-virus module and the heuristic analyzer is updated that allows to define more precisely harmful software and to detect new threats;
• scanning speed "on the fly" and on demand up to 2.5 times is increased;
• it is triple filtering of web contents is accelerated;
• the new mechanism of protection of automatic loading of USB drives operates;
• data protection of a clipboard and screenshots and other technology improvements.

Upgraded version of SSEP 7.6 supports work with operating systems Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012.

In SSEP 7.6 the new scheme of activation of a product is implemented:

• automatic installation of the server of updating
• the feature for installation of the client without existence of contact with the server of updates is added.
• the mode of audit and control of integrity of the modules SSEP and rule bases is added.
• performance and stability of work on 64-bit platforms is improved.

As well as the previous version, SSEP 7.6 is compatible to the information security facility from NSD Secret Net that allows to create a comprehensive protection of the computer from external and internal threats.

Security Studio Endpoint Protection 7.6 passed certification tests in FSTEC of Russia and received the certificate of conformity according to requirements to node level intrusion detection systems on the 4th class of protection and to means of antivirus protection on the 4th class of protection (types "A", "B", "B" and "G") and also on compliance to requirements to firewalls on the 4th class of security.

2015

Security Studio Endpoint Protection 7.7

The Code of Security company announced in January, 2015 receipt in sale of upgraded version of complex means of protecting from Internet threats – Security Studio Endpoint Protection 7.7.

Upgraded version of Security Studio Endpoint Protection successfully underwent inspection control in FSTEC of Russia for confirmation of conformity to earlier issued certificate No. 3128 according to requirements to node level intrusion detection systems on the 4th class of protection, means of antivirus protection on the 4th class of protection (types "A", "B", "B" and "G") and firewalls on the 4th class of security. The certificate also confirms compliance to requirements of absence of NDV for the 4th level of control.

This version of Security Studio Endpoint Protection contain the corrections and improvements entered based on operation of a product and also support of new Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 OS is implemented. In SSEP 7.7 performance measures and stability of work are increased.

Please note that product update within the operating technical support is provided for users of the previous versions of SSEP free of charge.

Besides, with SSEP 7.7 exit the Code of Security company expands conditions of a special offer on joint acquisition of the licenses SSEP and Secret Net 7 autonomous option. Now the action extends also to the licenses SSEP without antivirus.
