In October, 2016 at the TAdviser Cloud Day conference the manager of projects of RT-Inform Denis Semyonov told how his company creates a cloud platform for providing services to the enterprises of Rostec. The platform is conceived within the project under the name "Service 360" which main objective is creation of uniform service IT infrastructure in scales of Rostec.

Began the first stage of the project of RT-Inform in 2014 with central office of Rostec. Denis Semyonov notes that at the time of start the status of IT was not the best there: an essential part of the computer equipment was strongly outdated.

The project began with creation of DPC based on one of the enterprises of Rostec. At the first stage of RT-Inform performed upgrade of IT infrastructure of corporation with expansion of server capacities under information systems. Also modern means of information security according to the current threats in the field and significantly the augmented list of the provided services were updated and implemented.

Components of the Service 360 project

During creation of cloud infrastructure the company was guided by two basic principles – compliance to increased requirements of information security and import substitution. The last is connected with the fact that at the time of start of the project because of the developed political situation there was a threat of the termination of delivering solutions from the western vendors. With respect thereto in the project mainly solutions based on either domestic developments, or developments of suppliers from the countries which are not participating in sanctions against Russia were used.

RT-Inform is the cornerstone of a cloud platform IaaS- the platform Rustek from Servionicas based on OpenStack. Based on the created infrastructure were unrolled the solution VDI (virtual work places) for the double-circuit systems (with the closed and open circuit) and the platform of mobile device management, used in state corporation. Users conduct work in both information circuits in VDI through one thin client. Earlier for work in different circuits it was necessary to use two computers. Denis Semyonov told that as of fall of 2016 about 400 virtual machines for users in central office of Rostec are turned.

Initially strategic partner in "Service 360" is Huawei, however afterwards within Rostec production of own number of the telecom equipment and server hardware which RT-Inform began to use in the project was organized.

Based on a cloud platform of RT-Inform is going to offer software products according to the SaaS model. For example, uniform ERP system and PLM. In this direction there are already joint practices with a number of the companies, for example, with 1C, Denis Semyonov noted.

Potential users of a cloud platform of RT-Inform are all enterprises of Rostec which there are about 700 organizations in the different industries. RT-Inform calculates that the enterprises will gradually transfer the infrastructure to the cloud created by them. The cloud platform will help the enterprises to invest correctly in own infrastructure, Denis Semyonov believes. At the same time, can be clients of a cloud platform of RT-Inform and the third-party enterprises, the representative of RT-Inform noted.

Thanks to the implementing solution "Service 360" it was succeeded to increase information security according to relevant requirements of regulating authorities, to reduce the cost of operation and development of IT infrastructure and business applications, to build more effective interaction of the companies of Rostec and also to fully implement import substitution tasks. Besides, significant increase in loyalty and performance of users of corporate IT systems and applications became one of key project deliverables: according to internal poll of users of Rostec, it made about 50% thanks to more convenient and to intuitive interfaces, a possibility of seamless switching between corporate applications. The Service 360 project uses the most modern and effective domestic IT developments, allowing to create highly protected environments and virtual work places.
