Shuidi Shenjian (software for recognition of gait)

2018: Beginning of implementation

On October 26, 2018 the Chinese IT company Watrix released the software which uses a gait AI sensing technology for search of suspects. Software under the name Shuidi Shenjian is capable to make "portrait" of the person if it passes at distance up to 50 m from the camera.

Unlike a sensing technology of persons the new program more flexible - Shuidi Shenjian can identify subjects at any angle to shooting even if the suspect covered the face, replaced clothes or and care went outside only in the dead of night. At the same time, as the CEO of Watrix Huang Yongzhen noted, suspects do not know that they monitor their movements.

It is released by software which helps to catch criminals on gait

The Watrix company signed transactions with departments of public security near Fengtai in Beijing and Shanghai. The department of public security in Xinjiang also expressed interest in purchase of new software.

The portable automatic machine weighing about 15 kilograms can replace several working hands: users need only to suggest software to compare video to the criminal and records with suspects then the automatic machine will be able to carry out search. Software processes video lasting 1 hour in 10 minutes, and its accuracy is about 94%. So far the technology cannot detect suspects on video of real time yet, but the company is not going to be satisfied with what has already been achieved.

New software already passed test in the system of public security – the general run of the equipment made more than 1000 hours, and the program helped to identify more than 20 criminals. Software was processed already by 2000 videos of a system of public security.

The gait sensing technology can be also applied in medical area, allowing medical staff to estimate cases of falling among patients with balance violations. Besides, software can be used at design of intellectual house furniture.^[1]
