Siemon EagleEye Connect

Siemon, the company in the field of global network infrastructure, announced in the summer of 2015 EagleEye Connect release – the software of automated management of infrastructure (AIM). This adding to an exploration portfolio of the company allows to control and document automatically connections of a physical layer of network and a status of devices, providing unprecedented visualization, security, resource management, reduction of idle times and performance improvement of work of personnel.

The solution EagleEye on the server platform works as the central interface for the innovation infrastructure management system of MapIT G2 of Siemon company. A system collects, controls and saves intellectual network data from MapIT G2 main control panels and intelligent patch panels which are available in category 6 UTP, category 6A F/UTP, UTP and category 7A F/STP for copper patch panels and also in the single-mode and multimode MTP-LC and LC-LC body for fiber optic cable systems.

Developed for optimal convenience of using, the software of EagleEye Connect is filled with different functions, including there is a navigation tree displaying hierarchical relationship of all network resources up to the level of port and the device. Identification of the equipment is simplified thanks to graphical representation of arrangement of devices and also a type of racks in front and behind, with switching connections, allowing the user to define precisely a configuration of port. Besides, remote access through the web browser provides an ability to manage with networks and the numerous websites of any place in the world.

Security of network is considerably improved thanks to a possibility of the software to perform the round-the-clock monitoring and to transmit signals to specially appointed personnel in case of unauthorized connections / separations and movement of the IT equipment and devices. Tony Veatch, the director of production management of Siemon company, explains: "As security is a subject of special concern, and equipment downtimes mainly happen because of human errors at a configuration of movements, adding and changes, today's IT heads need continuous monitoring of all IT resources and methods of increase in accuracy and performance. Fast and convenient visualization of infrastructure of network is facilitated thanks to the database in real time, and function of automatic detection allows to update and support accounting of resources automatically. Capability of a system distribute, manage and monitor certain functions can arrange management of working orders also.

The software includes complex function of creation of reports that facilitates planning for development or changes, including inventory reports of resources and the number of available ports and space in racks.
