2014

Siemon, the company in the field of global network infrastructure, began with spring of 2014 LightStack release – the fiber optic system "Plug and Play" of ultrahigh density. This complete fiber optic system differs in high utilization properties and density and also the unsurpassed availability implemented in the modern elegant body. It is intended for support of environments of the latest centers of processing and storage area networks and also for fast and soft junction at a speed of 40 and 100 Gbit.

LightStack has the patented body which contains 144 LC fibers or 864 MTP fibers within one platform. Its horizontal cable passages combine traditional and one-tubular jumpers and also are characterized by easily opened folding organizers for providing full access. The innovation rotating clamping points of bunches of a cable collars on the back panel of the body save the corresponding radius of a bend.

Thanks to a back lower tray which moves for simplification of access to connections when the body is located one over another LightStack offers the availability, best in the industry. The back tray serves as a cable partition between the body installed one over another in the put-forward provision. The modules "Plug and Play" with small losses are easily inserted or taken in front or behind the body, and the esthetic easily opening magnetic door excludes existence of dangerous points for optical fiber and has the accurate revealing marking.

The superthin modules LightStack LC-MTP "Plug and Play" with small losses in a multimode and single-mode OM4 configuration have the lowest indicator of losses in the industry for flexible fiber optic channels 0.35 dB. End-to-end LightStack MTP adapters with small losses 0.2 dB and a full support of speed of 40 and 100 Gbit are provided in configurations on two, four and six ports and also in the combined and opposite key orientation for compliance to all methods of polarity. Unlike other fiber optic solutions presented at the market, LightStack also supports plates for end-to-end LC adapters on 12 fibers for the current storage area networks in the form of 10 Gbit of Ethernet or the fiber optic channel.

"Upon transition of modern data processing centers of high density from the speed of 10 Gbit to 40 and 100 Gbit fiber optic cable systems with low losses are necessary to support the numerous integrated connections for flexible options of switching with the broad range of range and configurations, and at the same time not to exceed balance of losses of lines. At the same time these connections should be easily available and managed for fast and effective making changes, – Charlie Maynard, the fiber optic products manager from the global headquarters of Siemon company claims. – Thanks to the excellent characteristics providing it superiority in the industry, our new fiber optic system of ultrahigh density LightStack has all necessary to meet the current and future requirements to fiber optic cable connections".

For trunk lines the fiber optic LightStack system includes the main cables MTP traditional and new generation, in the form of a multimode and single-mode fiber of OM3 and OM4, unreceptive to bends. Due to unique construction "pull-push" LC BladePatch from Siemon ideally supplements the ultrahigh density of the new LightStack system, much increasing availability. LightStack, the ideal solution for connection to active equipment from boundaries - or cross-connects, somehow storage area networks, also offers the mixed trunks LC BladePatch®-MTP for exact management and also simple installation and extraction. Jumpers and the trunks LC BladePatch have construction with one tube for a cable of smaller diameter that interferes with accumulation of cables, improves flow with an air flow and increases energy efficiency along with simplification of the general organization. The hybrid trunks LC BladePatch-MTP on 12 fibers with low losses are available in a multimode and single-mode configuration and also with different ranges of length to support of the wide list of active equipment, including Cisco Nexus, Cisco MDS and Brocade.

2015: Siemon optimizes transition to speed of 40 and 100 Gbit

Siemon, the company in the field of global network infrastructure, announced in October, 2015 release of fiber optic solutions 40/100 Gbit providing a possibility of transition from 10 Gbit at a speed of 40 or 100 Gbit. The solutions Siemon Plug and Play which are a part of family of fiber optic solutions of LightHouse which include the expanded range of various cords allow customers to operate fully the available equipment and backbone networks of the next generation of the network infrastructures, servers and storage systems using the speed of 40/100 Gbit.

Connection of the MTP cable systems to active equipment happens to the help of Siemon Quick-Pack adapters, or MTP adapters of ultrahigh density LightStack. It allows to provide a possibility of convenient end-to-end connection to the body of a fiber optic switching equipment Siemon. New fiber optic cable solutions with support of data transfer rate of 40/100 Gbit include conversion cords for transition from two 12-fiber MTP connectors to three 8-fiber MTP connectors that guarantees 100 percent use of the 12-fiber trunks MTP.

"8-fiber connections therefore 33 percent of 12-fiber trunk solutions remain not used are applied to the available data transfer rates of 40 Gbit and the implemented data transfer rates of 100 Gbit. Our conversion cords provide transition from two 12-fiber MTP connectors to three 8-fiber MTP connectors to exclude such loss of capacities", – Yefimov Nikolay, the technical manager of Siemon company in Russia and the CIS said. – "Use of conversion in the equipment is more economic solution with smaller losses, than acquisition and installation of separate conversion plug-in circuits which add the additional integrated pairs in the channel".

Fiber optic cable solutions with support of the speed of 40/100 Gbit also include the single jumpers MTP, conversion cords which provide transition from two 12-fiber MTP connectors to one 24-fiber MTP connector for use with the available 100-gigabit channels with 20 fibers, and the LC connector to four hybrid cords of MTP x of 10 Gbit which provide transition from the MTP connector to four duplex LC connectors for use with the equipment maintaining data transfer rate of 40 Gbit on the basis of aggregation of several 10-Gbitny ports.

For upgrade and transition from the speed of 10 Gbit to 40 and 100 Gbit customers can just switch from the available modules MTP to the modules LC Siemon using MTP adapters, and then select cords 40/100 which in the best way correspond to their tasks. Cords are made using a cable of smaller diameter Siemon RazorCore that simplifies access to connections at decrease in accumulation of cables in horizontal cable passages for improvement of ventilation of the equipment.
