MapIT G2 is the system of intellectual management of cable infrastructure.
The MapIT G2 system monitors connections at the physical layer and in parallel, in real time, checks connection of IP devices. A system provides all information on network irrespective of the fact how far it is located — directly at head office or in remote branch in other part of the planet.
Components of a system and scheme of their interaction, 2014
Before management was based on exclusively passive a patch panels, each of which a separate cable united to the analyzer, and that, in turn, with the master analyzer, now each Smart Patch Panel (SPP) panel became "smart", has the built-in means of collecting and information exchange. Panels can be collected in cascades; the number of the serviced ports when using only one managing Master Control Panel (MCP) panel reaches 2880. When using additional Distribution Control Panel (DCP) distribution panels a system can service over 65 thousand ports. All panels have height 1U for installation in a rack.
Smart Patch Panel, 2014
A system helps to control physical switchings, both in copper, and in fiber-optical networks, and in the second generation the sizes of the SPP smart panels, DCP distribution panels and the MCP master panels, in comparison with the first version - decreased, and the number of the traced ports increased.
The combination of intellectual cable components and software helps to provide:
- documentation of infrastructure
- monitoring of the physical layer
- the increased security
- possibilities of carrying out inventory
- management of remote branches
- maintaining work orders
- flexibility at any changes in the future.
2015: MapIT G2 develops with TERA
On August 20, 2015 the Siemon company announced expansion of a system of automated management of MapIT G2 infrastructure by means of completely screened solution TERA.
According to the statement of the company, the combination of MapIT G2 technology, the twisted pair cable of category 7A/class FA TERA and software Siemon EagleEye Connect, will provide tracking/monitoring and control in real time.
In composition of MapIT G2 TERA the intelligent patch panels which are completed with the modules latched from front or back face. For reliable grounding of a screened system in them the Quick-Ground technology is used.
Angular construction of a panel simplifies laying of cables directly to vertical organizers. The panel in real time locally displays information on each connection of a switching cord and the scheme of trace/laying of a cable line on the graphics LCD display with back-face illumination.
The developed for ensuring the highest reliability and corrosion resistant switching cords of MapIT G2 TERA are made in 2-and 4-pair versions and are equipped with available touch contact from back face for testing and display. 2-pair cords allow sharing of a cable when two 2-pair applications, such as VoIP or 10/100BASE-T, it is possible to implement using one 4-paired cable and the socket that allows to save on the cost of cables and space for the laid cords.
The combination of technology of intellectual interaction of the MapIT G2 connections and the software of EagleEye Connect of Siemon company provides visualization and management of all physical layer of network. Using functions of monitoring of ports and tracking in real time, a system identifies failures, unauthorized connections and not used ports for improvement of response time on troubleshooting, processing of job placements, security management and resources. The MapIT G2 TERA patch panels are extremely effective and use 78% less energy, than the competing systems.
