2019: Representation of "smart" lampposts of BrightSites

On July 5, 2019 it became known that the Signify company, the company in the field of lighting, provided "smart" lampposts of BrightSites which integrate a broad spectrum of applications, cameras and sensors of tracking of state of environment with the managed energy saving LED lighting.

Digital infrastructure is also important for economic viability of the city and quality of life in it, as well as physical ─ roads, bridges and water pipes. Nevertheless, the available digital infrastructure is not enough for satisfaction of modern needs of city dwellers. Creation of columns of BrightSites corresponds to the strategy of Signify: to search of unlimited opportunities of lighting and also rendering services through the light systems. "Smart" lampposts of BrightSites use the SmartPole technology provided earlier from Signify and Ericsson providing LED lighting and wireless communication 4G of LTE due to integration into the body of small-size base stations.

We considerably finished SmartPole technology, having added to it digital sensors and more powerful Wi-Fi. The hidden integrated antennas provide communication 4G and 5G. Transforming simple light sources to data exchange points, we do the "smart" cities even more comfortable and safe. A wide choice of laconic designs allows to add harmoniously practically any urban environment,

Columns with enhanced capabilities of Internet of Things emphasize evolution of street lighting from primitive object of municipal municipal services and the next item of expenditure to potentially profitable point of ensuring wireless communication, data collection and monitoring of the environment. Besides, the ability to integrate services in the field of telecommunications and advertizing will allow lampposts to bring to municipalities an additional income.

The connected functions of "smart" columns of lighting BrightSites:

  • The sensors tracing a current status of the environment: purity of air, noise level and different incidents on the street. Collected data are used for decision making on improvement of territories.
  • The cameras monitoring a situation on roads for optimization of flows of the movement and routes of abnormal services.
  • Microphones with function of recognition of the sounds connected with antisocial behavior ─ shouts, signallings, the broken glass and even shots. At their emergence lamps automatically increase lighting brightness, write audio and send a signal to services of the emergency help.
  • Screens for the emergency or advertizing messages.

"Smart" columns of BrightSites are already set in several cities of the world, from New Caledonia and San Jose in the USA to Hospitalet in Spain.
