2025: Drone announcement with built-in Kalashnikov assault rifle and video camera

In mid-February 2025, Pune-based Indian company Ikran Aerospace and Technologies PVT LTD unveiled an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with a Kalashnikov suspended assault rifle. A drone called the Sirin A1 can be used for various combat missions, including the destruction of enemy manpower and equipment.

Sirin A1 is made according to the copter scheme. The maximum takeoff weight is 40 kg, while the payload weight can reach 10 kg. Depending on the equipment, the device is able to stay in the air for up to 15-20 minutes, and the flight range varies from 2 to 5 km at a maximum altitude of 3000 meters.

The design provides for the possibility of mounting various payloads. In particular, a Kalashnikov AK-47 or AK-203 can be mounted under the body on a suspension with a stabilizer. In this configuration, a surveillance camera is provided, and aiming and firing control are performed remotely by the operator.

In addition, the drone can be equipped with a special module with four borders: their reset is also carried out by command from a remote control center. Plus, it is possible to install a block with two light 51 mm mortars. In all these modifications, the declared flight duration on a single charge of the battery pack is up to 20 minutes.

The Sirin A1 drone can also be adapted for surveillance and reconnaissance at any time of the day. To do this, it is equipped with a camera with night vision function, 30x zoom and a laser pointer. Algorithms for recognizing objects based on artificial intelligence have been implemented. Thus, the Sirin A1 is suitable for a variety of tasks.[1]
