2023: Product Announcement
On November 30, 2023, Becton Dickinson introduced an advanced SiteRite 9 ultrasound system designed to accurately install catheters during vascular operations. The complex helps to increase the efficiency and safety of medical procedures.
As indicated on the manufacturer's website, SiteRite 9 is an all-in-one universal platform with a user-friendly interface. Visualization is carried out through a 15.6-inch display with touch control support. The system assists in the installation of peripherally administered central catheters (PVCCs), central venous catheters, intravenous catheters, and other vascular access devices.
SiteRite 9 includes specialized tools for monitoring the procedure. So, the Cue tracking function allows medical professionals to continuously monitor the needle in real time. Sherlock 3CG + aids in controlling the movement of the catheter tip and its position in the venous system.
The SiteRite 9 platform is also equipped with intelligent features such as vascular assessment tools: the system makes it easier to determine vessel sizes and choose a catheter of suitable thickness, giving physicians the ability to make an informed decision at each procedure. Additional tools include searching for patient data with the ability to collect the necessary information, automatically fill out medical forms, etc.
In general, Becton Dickinson states, the new ultrasound scanner is designed to make vascular care easier and more effective for healthcare professionals with any level of training - whether they have years of experience in the relevant field or are new. The system minimizes the likelihood of incorrect catheter insertion in vascular surgeries.[1]
